Well it looks like I'm going to be a Brown's fan from this point forward, at least until Palmer leaves Cincy. I couldn't believe I was hearing the hate coming out of his mouth for the Buckeyes. I understand loyalty to your school but he needs to understand where he is at. I know everybody is entitled to their opinion and that goes for me too, and I'll tell you, My opinion is, I don't like his opinion. I don't wish ill will on anybody but.....yeah I do!!! I hope Vernon Golston pounds his #$#@ %^%$^% ?$%$#@ into the ground.

Former die-hard Bengals fan!!!
Current NEVER-DIE Buckeye's fan!!!

Carson just leaped into #1 on my all-time favorite QB's list, of course I am Lions fan so its fairly obvious my choices in pro football leaves something to be desired.

I did not know Carson Palmer was the NFL Commissioner.

Oh, ... no, ... Palmer is NOT the commissioner of the entire league, just the captain on the ship of the most notorius collection of criminals, hooligans, and dimwits known aka the Cincinnati Bengals ..... oh well, guess that concept worked out well for Australia ?:p

Well, just one thing to do, take care of biz on the left coast in September. ?;)

Then the backpedaling once a little heat picks up?? ... (girlie boy!!) ...

THE COLUMBUS DISPATCH
Palmer tries to backpedal from rant about Buckeyes fans
Tuesday, July 22, 2008

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Palmer has been catching some heat during the past few days for remarks he made Thursday in an interview with Los Angeles radio station KLAC. Palmer, a Southern California product, was asked if he had to be careful about what he said about the Sept. 13 Ohio State-USC game because he lives in Ohio part of the year.

Here's his response:

"I don't watch what I say. . . . I cannot stand the Buckeyes, and having to live in Ohio and hear those people talk about their team, it drives me absolutely nuts.

"It's amazing to hear what those guys think about that university and that football program and (coach Jim) Tressel and all the crap I've got to put up with being back there.

"I just can't wait for two years from now (actually 2009) when SC comes to the 'Shoe. Hopefully, we'll have a home game that weekend and I go up there and watch us pound on them on their own turf and put all the talk to rest, because I'm really getting sick of it.

"I just can't wait for this game to get here, so they can come out to the Coliseum and experience L.A. and get an old fashioned Pac-10 butt-whipping and go back to the Big Ten. I can't wait."

Yesterday, Palmer backed off. He stressed that his comments were intended mainly for a southern California audience.

"I'm a Trojan all the way, and I was talking to a Trojan audience in California," he said, in a statement issued by a Bengals spokesman. "I guess I got a little fired up, as all good fans will do.

"But I really do respect the Buckeyes, and I know their fans are passionate, too. I hope they all understand I'm just looking forward to a big game for my school against a very tough opponent, and that it's all in the good fun of a rivalry. You don't have a real rivalry unless both sides are great teams."

Would you expect anything less from a Buckeye playing in LA? I wouldn't . Oh yeah they do not have an NFL team in LA ;D ;D. My loyalty is with the Buckeyes and my college roommate who lives in Fla says the same thing about those people. He hates the Fla and sec fans and gets sick of listening to their crap.No big deal I would have rather he didn't back down and stuck to his guns.

CP is loyal to his Alma Matter and I can not hate him for that. IF you think this was amped up listen to his interviews on the Steelers.....now that is hate.

I would agree with alot of what people are saying about the Bengals and being from Cincinnati It is a little upsetting to hear Palmer talk like that but to say he's a punk... come on... now if you said Chris Henry (former punk bengal) or Chad Johnson i would agree but Palmer seems to be half way decent of a human being and not a thug or trouble maker.

I agree that a veteran of his stature needs to know who his fan base is. It doesn't matter who the group is that he's talking to. I lived in Lebanon (near King's Island) from 96-2000 while the Browns were gone from the league and still couldn't root for the Bengals, because I'm too much of a Browns fan. I'm sure the Browns will welcome all of their new supporters. You can't bash the Buckeye's and play for a team in Ohio. It just ain't right! GO BUCKS!!

I root for the Bengals; not Carson, not Chad, not Big Willie, etc. I don't necessarily care for what he said, but I see it for what it is.

I rather have my DD play s-o-c-c-e-r  than root for the Browns.

Well Said!

Carson is a class act, he just got a little over zealous rooting for his college team. The Bengals are not a one man team. As far as thugs on the Bengals, yep, but they are on every team in the NFL, deal with it or switch to European Football, you know s-o-c-c-e-r!

Chill out those Buckeyes! :D
