No fair posting this right before lunch time!

:lmao::lmao:

I was sitting there trying not to get to hungry when I was putting the post together.

Everyone raved about our concessions last year (with exception of the pizza, new supplier this year) and with the addition of Bailey's it should be even better. The carmel corn folks setup the huge copper kettle and the smell is amazing.

Thank you for noticing! We wanted to make sure that teams were getting a good value for their money.

While there is no denying that we do these tournaments as a fundraiser for our girls, there is no need to be greedy. Hope you decide to join us, the pools are shaping up nicely.

I have had many conversations lately with 10u & 12u coaches who have stated that our PAID Berth to Nationals doesn't appeal to them as they have no intentions of going to Nationals.

I totally understand that Nationals for the younger teams is more a luxury than a necessity. To address this I have decided to offer an option to the 10u & 12u age division winners only. The option is that they can either take the PAID Berth to Eastern Nationals or receive a refund of their entry fee.

I feel that this is a fair way to address the concerns that have been expressed. Please feel free to send me any questions or concerns.

This tournament is once again participating in the Circuit of Champions and is a single point event.

I have been asked multiple times about how the "multi-team" discount works and about the PAID berth, so here is the info:

You need more than one team on the same check. The 1st team pays full price, but all subsequent teams receive a $25 discount. We had several orgs submit 5 or 6 teams all at the same time last year so they maximized their savings.

The paid berth is just that, we write the check to the Eastern National TD to pay for your team's entry. This past year it was $425 and I can only imagine it will go up, so it is essentially like getting your entry fee + back when you win your age division.

So let's add this up so everyone understands why we are asking $425 entry. Here is what we pay out:

$425 to winner in each age group (or whatever Nationals entry is this year)
$450 T-shirts for 1st & 2nd place (custom Champion & Finalist for up to 15 per team)
$875 total per age group or

$4375 for all 5 age groups total. No other tournament I know of offers prizes that large just for playing in the tournament.

I guess there is some confusion about parking/gate fees. To clarify; there is only a parking fee and NO gate fee.

We have several options to help teams save money on parking:

1) Team Pass - 15 weekend passes for $90 (that's $2 a day for a car load)

2) Advance purchase - $10 for the weekend (that's $3.33 a day for a car load)

3) Pay as you Park - $6 a day (this is per car load, not per person)

We have no individual gate fee.

If you seen the load I bring in every weekend to games (6 to 8 people) this is one heck of a deal! :D

We will end up getting the weekend pass down the road for our team.

Barry, The team pass is really the best deal by far. I knew you would see the value in it. Looking forward to a great tournament weekend.

So 3dm -- is there going to be a pig roast at the Maple Leaf, or at one of the other Breakers' tourney's?

My nephew has a business that does them and I have reserved both dates with him to ensure he has one of his rosters available to us. We just had an org wide meeting a week ago to select chair-people for each task for the tournament(s). I will have to sit down with the concessions committee and see if they feel it is feasible for one, both of neither.

With the weather as crazy as it is in early June I am more inclined to push for the Cinderella in July versus the Maple Leaf. We'll have to see what they decide and I'll keep you posted.
