Just starting a discussion area for the OAC. I am looking for anybody's thoughts on the OAC. Who could be some of the favorites this year?

Love the OAC ... my DD played for BW 4 years 2009-2012. I know Muskingum won it last year, and it looks like their top 2 pitchers and most of their top hitters are all back, so I would guess they would be the favorites to repeat. BW lost a pretty talented senior class, so my guess is they will be a bit down this year but not sure. In recent years, John Carroll and Ohio Northern are usually pretty competitive. Freshmen can have a pretty big impact in the OAC and not sure who brought in the best players. Can I ask if your DD is in the conference now, Northmont?

Yes, My sister (yes I am her brother) is on the Wilmington Quakers. I have been on this site a long time. Once OFC switched over my screen name was reset so I lost all my posts. I believe coach we have talked a few times in the chat room, if I remember correct. I can't wait for another season of Wilmington softball. Muskingum has a very good coach and I know they will be one of the teams to beat this year. I thought ONU really impressed me last year with there young talent and I am sure they will be good this year.

Yes, we have chatted some during the radio show, and yes, we all lost all of our post counts when that happened. Wilmington used to be one of the weaker teams in the conference but they have steadily improved over the years since I've been following the OAC, and definitely holding their own these days. One of the fond memories I have of my daughter's career was a weeknight game in Wilmington when she pitched all 14 innings of a game BW won, and also had 5 hits herself. If they play at BW this year and you are coming up for the game, let me know and maybe I can meet you there.

It looks like as of now Wilmington plays BW on April 11 on a Saturday. So yes I may be up there, just depends on my schedule at work. I will let you know. Yes we have improved each year I have been at Wilmington. It is exciting to see the progress. That's an awesome story, It is tough any given day just to pitch 7 innings let alone 14 in one day and 5 hits vs. an OAC opponent.

Looking at the schedule Capital starts this Monday in Clermont, Florida with Ohio Northern also in Clermont on Friday. Then Otterbien starts on Saturday in Clermont. Also Mount Union and John Carroll Start on Sunday in Clermont. This is going to be a busy week in Clermont with all these OAC teams coming down. It feels good to finally get the season started. To keep up with all the teams in Florida you can follow them at www.OAC.org . There should be live stats for most of these teams provided at there athletic sites for the colleges.

Can't wait for the Muskies's season to get started on Sunday in Florida. Looking forward to going down to some hopefully warm weather!! I am of course pulling for the Muskies to repeat! DD's friend and teammate since 10u is senior at Wilmington. Can't believe how fast the 11 years since then has went by.

Some crazy games ... check out the scores of the JCU-Muskingum games! I will be doing a weekly OAC update on the radio show this week and until their season is over.

How about coming back from that 1st game to win the 2nd game and by run rule no less? What do you say as a coach at the end of a day like that?

Exactly! I wasn't too surprised by it to be honest. I had checked for OAC scores online about 3:30 or so on Saturday, and knew JCU was better than that. I am sure they just got caught up in one of those games where they ended up pulling their top pitcher and even most of their regulars, and getting through it, albeit a lot more painfully I am sure than they were expecting.

Got to see Heidelberg & Muskingum play last Sunday. 'Berg ended up making big comeback and to force extras and get the game 1 win, ended up winning 2 also.

Fairly even matched...little bit of pitchers struggles with the weather.

After John Carroll's OAC opener losing 37-1 to Muskingum, they have reeled off 5 consecutive conference wins ...
