I have had many conversations lately with 10u & 12u coaches who have stated that our PAID Berth to Nationals doesn't appeal to them as they have no intentions of going to Nationals.

I totally understand that Nationals for the younger teams is more a luxury than a necessity. To address this I have decided to offer an option to the 10u & 12u age division winners only.
The option is that they can either take the PAID Berth to Eastern Nationals or receive a refund of their entry fee.

I feel that this is a fair way to address the concerns that have been expressed. Please feel free to send me any questions or concerns.

Lots of complaint coming in about the abuse of TTT for your events..We are having allot of complaints about the abuse of TTT on the forum in general but your events are giving other the reason to abuse the TTT rule.. I don't have the time to monitor or do I want to try and keep up with the abuse of the TTT rules.

Number #1 I don't even like the TTT it adds no content to the site..... And it complete waste in my book..

There so much good content that could be added to the site, if people would take the time to place it on the forum.

Bump your tread by added content. Check out my tournament tread and see how I'm added real content and something that people may want to read about or see when they come to zanesville, Oh

Ricky, I have no idea what you are talking about. My posts have been following the rules as well as the extra rules you and I covered the last time there were all these supposed complaints.

The last time one of my coaches TTT a tournament post thinking he was helping and that was against the rules. No problem, we accept the punishment, the coach was unaware and has not done anything of the sort since.

I would ask that a little more due diligence be done on investigating these complaints. This post was just put up this morning and it is very important info that needs to be passed down. I bumped it once to ensure enough folks got the intial word and now it will be 48 hours before it gets bumped again, unless there is a discussion started on it.

No problem, I understand what your trying to do with getting the info out and i don't have a problem.

I think it time to take the TTT feature out of the forum, as it has become nothing but a contest to see who can have there post at the top all the time..

I have a good way for people to do that how about everyone put some real content inside there thread now that would be a great concept..

Are amateur girls permitted to play for money?

Not playing for money, just a refund of entry fee. No different than playing for T-shirts, Jackets, trophies, or a PAID berth, etc.... It might be an issue if they were receiving more than their entry fee or a per/player amount.

I would think there is a big difference between t-shirts and money.

Why, they both have monetary value. It's all in the way it is looked at. What is the difference if we cut a check to the Nationals TD for a team or cut a check to the organizations treasurer? We are not awarding the player and money, they will still receive their custom tournament shirt with CHAMPIONS on it.

Remember, we are only talking about 10u & 12u teams here.

Trophies or t-shirts that represent a trophy seem to be the same thing. But money in any form that is given back to a team for winning would be in my opinion playing for cash.

I would be concerned if it was an older age group, let's be real here. We are talking about 10u & 12u girls, they are playing for the trophies (shirts).

tprovconc, There are many tournaments that give back entry fee if you would take the time to read all there small print.I think it's a good option for the winner.

Thanks Blesh. I was starting to think I was the only one that saw the benefit in this decision. LoL

I'm sorry but this change only applies to the 10u & 12 u age divisions. At 14u and above, teams predominantly want to attend a national event.

Jeff you were right! LoL

I guess this was the ticket. Since making this public we have added no less than six teams and have heard from another 4 since Saturday. Sorry I didn't understand this dilemma sooner, live and learn I guess.

Doug, I just ran across this thread.

At 10u and 12u you can do whatever you want to do as they do not fall under OHSAA regulatons.

I get the same thing every year with the Uniform Blowout from someone.

It's always.. "You can't play for money"

My answer is always, " I don't. They play for UNIFORMS valued at $600.00 dollars. "

Good luck with your two events this coming year. May sunshine and 75 degrees be with you.....

I have no idea why people have an issue with this. Many like to complain about the cost of tournaments and others complain when you try to give out nice prizes. I guess you can't please everyone.

I think too many equate team money with individual money. The team money is nothing more than the players fees used to cover expenses. The team receives their entry fee back, thus making the expenses less. What the team does with the extra money is totally up to them and how they want to account for it. The girls still get their T-shirts that say "CHAMPION" on it.
