That special time of year

I just like to post this each year as a subtle reminder during what is the most exciting time of year but also the most sad time of year as well.....Tournament Time! A few things and tips...

1- get a bag of lollipop pops to keep yr mouth closed
2- Enjoy every pitch
3- cheer both sides for great plays and effort
4- your daughter is looking at you in the stands after each at bat, make sure your smiling and proud versus the WTH look...
5- Don't be that obnoxious parent to the umpires or fellow fans....

Remember most of the young ladies will never lace up again after the tournament loss, so be excited for your girls but not boisterous for the losing team. If you are on that short end of the stick for a Senior Player, she's still your Daughter forever.......

For some of the girls they are ending 10+ years of playing the game. They may never pick up a glove again till their own son or daughter want to learn how to throw. FYI, the grandparent gig is great!!! Smile now cause you're not finished. Your skills and knowledge will probably be needed again.

Is your DD a pitcher? If so, I recommend sitting by the outfield fence. She won't be able to hear you from there, and you won't be able to see all the bad ball/strike calls.

Yep, lefty pitcher. Was watching her last game of regular season tonight, appalled at the lack of calls at the knees lol!! She went three before skinning her pitching hand diving for a pop foul in front of the plate.
Ended up with 5 k's, 1bb and 1hit with no earned runs.
I think I may just duct tape my mouth
For the post season!!! Lol

We are finally at the point where we can sit behind the backstop and not go into convulsions...lol. She's a Junior, so it took us a long time...lol. Now we just enjoy watching her play for the little time we have left until she grows up.

My dd was playing her freshman year of college. Like a lot of dads, I typically stood up and paced. After all, she was a freshman and I was nervous. After a spring trip tournament game early that year, she asked my why I stood up. I never did that in HS. I reminded her I stood in the 3rd base coaching box and so, did stand up. LOL I was her HS coach. Anyway, she said to me that she believed she was going to get a hit every time up and that I should sit down. I took that to heart. No matter how much I wanted to pace some, I sat in that seat because I wanted her to know that I believed in her as much as she believed in her.
