Being yelled at by hundreds of fans

This may have already been brought up, if so; My apologies.
And obviously from all the post, everyone does not share my opinion....

I really enjoy reading here on the General Softball forum. All the variety of tourney thoughts, game situations, etc.

But now we are simply completely flooded with nothing but try out post which we have forums for.
It’s only my opinion, but just think it would be nice on everyones part if we used the correct forums.

I’m not trying to ruffle feathers, simply stating that this general forum is great, but currently we have to get thru pages & pages of try out post before you can read post belonging here on the general forum.

Sorry guys/ladies, just my opinion.

It's done because people don't care and they see they can get away with it. Out of respect for Rick, staff, & others I have always personally posted in the correct sections. I think it needs cut down some in the tryout section so you don't see the same post in 5 other sub-sections. People are crazy and obsessed about this time of year. If your team made an impression on these other athletes then there's no reason as a coach we should have to post in the wrong forum areas. It just comes down to Laziness and carelessness. I think to post tryouts on this forum we should have to pay.. This isn't Facebook! I personally don't do Facebook. This is it for me and it sucks when General, and other topic area are over-ran by tryouts.

I just moved seven pages of tryout from the General Section of the forum and placed them into the tryout out section.

But I won't be doing that anymore, in the future your post will be removed along with any copy of same post that are inside other sections of the forum. Basically wiping out all your tryout post. It's take me second to do that compared to 30 mins by removing them individually. .

I guess I’m confused as to why you seem upset by folks posting tryouts on the General board when you posted this on the GB and it was just recently moved to the correct page:

The original post was NOT for tryouts.

Thank for trying to put me on blast though. Lol

Not putting you on blast as much as saying you have taken part in posting tryout info on the GB as well. And how was the original post NOT for tryouts when this is how your original post read:

We are excited to welcome Mason Robinson to the Bo Jackson Elite family for 2019/2020 season. Mason will be the Head coach of our Bo Jackson Elite 05 team moving into 2019/2020 season. She is also the head varsity coach at Olentangy Orange and was a great player and ambassador to our sport on and off the field. Mason played for Lasers Black through her travel career and Murray State in college. Mason was a pitcher for her Racers team 2014-2017. Mason is also a great pitching instructor which is always nice to have during game time. If interested in trying out for Bo Jackson Elite please go to our website and register.

Lol.
That’s putting me on Blast.

Nothing in the ORIGINAL post had anything to do about tryouts. It was welcoming Mason to the Organization. Anything about tryouts was added later after the post was live.

The Staff did their job and moved it to the correct section after I made the changes. Job security for the OFC Staff.

Well it looks like it lasted about 4 days. All but about 3 threads on first page are Tryout type of posts.

I almost never read or post here anymore. Part of that is I'm a college coach, but a bigger part is that I don't want to sift through tryout and "need player" posts. Ricky, is there a way to leave all of those posts in one forum and keep them from coming up on New Posts? I always liked to bookmark New Posts and it was easy to see what had been posted since the last visit, but now it's all tryout stuff. I don't know, maybe having mainly a tryout website is better for OFC, rather than having a forum to discuss softball?

it would be a full-time job for Ricky to move all the tryout threads from General forum area. He has warned members but nothing ever happens. These coaches know nothing will happen so they continue to post the SAME tryout in every area just hoping to grab more attention. Its a cluttered mess. I think we as coaches should have to pay to post our tryouts on this site. Its not a facebook. We should be able to come here everyday and discuss fastpitch. Instead I have been finding myself on other forums reading and whatnot.

Yes i did fall behind over the weekend. We have been dealing with some legal issues with softballclassified.com and it was a very high priority to resolve the issues before today. We still have that site off line and will stay down for at least a couple more days.

I'm not a big fan of charging the teams or Coaches for posting tryout. But I can be honest with you I've had more Coaches and Organizations contact me about paying to post tryouts this year then we ever had in previous year's.

But I believe we have other plans and a better solution to handle the tryouts madness.

Joe, I've notice after look thru the years that the number of tryout post have increased greatly since we added so many section inside the tryout section of the site.

Unfortunately I believe that directly related to so many tryouts post. This does nothing but clutter the forum with multiple post with all the same information.

Most patients that I've talk with, say they don't look at the new posts for tryouts. They for the most part go right into the tryout section.

Yes Joe I can disable tryouts showing up in New Post and plan on doing so.

Teams/ Organizations would pay top dollar to be on a banner on the front page of the forum. Plus it would equal more money on the bottom line for operations/ upgrades. I am all for it. Other sites out there allows you to post your info but it cost $3 and up. But other forums are also not as personal and family feel like here either.
