I was reading about a 6 under Fastpitch Coach looking for a 6 under tournament for next weekend because the one they were attending got cancel.

Ok, I hope I’m not the only one that thinks this is funny. Come on man 6 under. 6 under playing tournaments is like 10u and 12u attending showcase tournaments. Why would you even think about it?

Yes, it's funny. I'm thinking he's hoping by 10U he can rename his team the ABC Super Platinum Gold Elite travel ball team.

I never understood the whole younger teams at a showcase unless it was just a money grab. Why not use those resources to bring in more older teams?
I agree. Makes no sense to invite 14U teams to showcases in today's recruiting climate. Especially this fall when recruiting gets going again. College programs for the most part are behind trying to fill their 2021 and 2022 classes let alone dive into the 2024 class which is mostly 14U .. That early age craziness started for me in the fall of 2013 when my team at the time (2 months removed from 12U ASA Nats) got invited to a fall showcases. Could not believe actual D1 college coaches were there watching our team play.. My pitcher received her first offer after that weekend at the ripe age of 13. Back then there was not even a 14U age group at the Colorado IDT, Sparkler or Fireworks showcases.. If you wanted to be seen by coaches you had to play up on a 16U team.. In 2015 the big National Showcases added the 14U division and most have not looked back since.. That is when Showcase TD profits started to skyrocket as they added more fields and complexes to accommodate the early recruiting craziness. The good ole days. haha
