how many coaches in your org are non parent and what age groups do they coach?

how are these non parent coaches accommodated by doing this?

What is acceptable for compensation?

I am a 12U non-parent coach for the Ohio Warriors. I'm compensated by watching my players improve daily, tournament by tournament and having my daughter in the dugout with me when she's home while not in college or playing college ball.

Cincy Doom has one at 10u , 14u, two at 16u and one at 18u. It is very hard to find not only non parent coaches but good coaches in general! Always looking for good coaches or teams to join our organization!

I am pretty sure in the Bandits organization they require a non-parent head coach. No idea about how much the compensation is, however.

I think if you got your out of town hotels paid for , it was enough. If you needed to be paid otherwise, youre in it for the wrong reasons.
i agree hitter. if you play out of town the non parent coach should get atleast hotels paid for. other than that its all about passion for the game and teaching the game

My DD's team has a non-parent HC. Our team fees pay for hotels. He pays for the rest. Hotels add up as we do a lot of travel, but what we get in return is worth it ten fold. He knows the game and knows how to teach it. He is in it for the passion of the game and truly cares about his players. I know we have other non-parent head coaches in our org, but not sure how they have things worked out.

Many if not all would prefer that option, but very hard to find coaches. Other sports have strong compensation for head coaches and they pull in a significant amount of coaches for elite travel clubs. NOT advocating for softball, but only way to move to that level. With that said, if the coach is honest in player evaluation (including daughter) and doesn't play daddy ball, then parent coaches are not an issue in my opinion.

Non parent coaches are nice but not necessarily required. In volleyball team fees at recruiting ages may go over 4k and higher. I'm sure there are parents that would pay those amounts for softball too. My oldest had good experiences with both parent and non parent coaches.

not sure how the volleyball fee reference comes into play with non parent coaches but where yall playing volleyball at with those fees? both my kids played some JO volleyball and currently my son plays on an 18u and he is 16 but we have never came close to paying 4k for a volleyball season. and i do not think anyone would agree to paying a 4k fee to play fastpitch for any org. JMHO

I just brought up volleyball because they mostly use paid coaches in order to show how their club fees are affected by that. Not sure about fees for boys club, but you would be hard pressed to find a girls national volleyball team from 14 to 18 with fees under 3000. I would hate to see that in softball, but if they get the numbers for volleyball, parents would pay it for softball.
