***BUCKEYE HEAT ORGANIZATIONAL TRYOUTS***

The Buckeye Heat (a 501c3 organization) has been an active member of the fastpitch community since its founding in 1998 as the Worthington Heat. From a one team organization, we have grown to support teams at every age group from 10U through 23U/18O. Our teams are based out of Central Ohio, but compete at venues throughout the state and nation. We believe that serious competitive fastpitch should be fun as well as educational, and try to select girls, families, and coaches that share that belief.

Buckeye Heat Columbus/Ohio 04 is coming off a very successful season . Due to a few of our players moving up in age we are looking to add one or two players. We play only the top tournaments in the state and surrounding states. All tournaments are showcases or invitationals.
We are looking for athletes who are capable of playing multiple positions. Experienced outfielder with a strong and accurate arm would be a plus or a solid infielder capable of playing 3B or SS. If interested please contact Coach Tim at 614-738-2260

Finally, Our current coaching staff includes current and former college softball players who share both their own experiences and provide guidance with the recruiting process.

Buckeye Heat X ‘10 is looking to continue to grow our team as we learn the fundamentals, build a foundation, and have fun! We will be having tryouts for 2010 (may consider 2011) birthdays to join our team for our second season in 10u for the 2020/2021 season. Tryouts will be Saturday, August 15th from 10am-12pm and Sunday, August 16th from 3-5pm. Location is to be determined because of field availablity due to COVID-19. It’s been a crazy first year of travel ball for BHX but our great girls and families have pushed through all the adversity and still grow in the game of softball! PM if interested and to pre-register.
I also have an OFC page labeled musb10 Buckeye Heat ‘10(X) that can be used for contact as well! Look forward to meeting new softball loving girls! Go BHX!

Head Coach: John Clark

I’ve been around Fastpitch for going on 14 years both as a pitchers parent and as a coach. Previously I coached with Chris Bower with the Outlaws for 3 years at the highest levels and currently the Avon MS head coach. I have evolved my philosophy from several coaches my daughter played and meshed into my own. Practice needs to be fun yet challenging. Fundamentals will be stressed at practice but not just physically but mentally as well. Players and parents need to be held accountable.

My hitting philosophy comes from Howard Carrier school of thought (Tim Duncan and Chris Bower) while pitching from Dave Leffew. Those who knew my daughter knew they got the most out of my daughter’s smaller frame.

Practices may be rotating based off the location of players. I know as a parent traveling two or three hours can be challenging doing it weekly. In doing this, it gives players and parents an opportunity to have the short ride. I will also be securing a facility during the winter months. As a non-parent coach, I have that flexibility to do this.

The plan will be 2 or 3 fall tourneys, 1 or 2 winter and spring/summer to be decided.

Tryouts:
August 1 from 10-11:30 with pitchers/catchers staying later
3701 Veterans Memorial Pkwy
Avon, OH 44011

August 8 from 10-12 with pitchers/catchers staying after
260 Davis Rd
Ashland, OH 44805

***BUCKEYE HEAT ORGANIZATIONAL TRYOUTS***

The Buckeye Heat (a 501c3 organization) has been an active member of the fastpitch community since its founding in 1998 as the Worthington Heat. From a one team organization, we have grown to support teams at every age group from 10U through 23U/18O. Our teams are based out of Central Ohio, but compete at venues throughout the state and nation. We believe that serious competitive fastpitch should be fun as well as educational, and try to select girls, families, and coaches that share that belief.

Head Coach:Tim Villies

Go BHX!
