In a NSA bracket play can a team start a game with only 8 players? I found another rule that says team may start a game in pool play with 8 girls and then take an out at batter 9 but was not sure about bracket play. Thanks for any help

"A team shall consist of a minimum of nine (9) players and a maximum oftwelve (12) players if the two (2) optional Extra Player (EP) and the TwinPlayer are used. Teams can play a maximum of nine (9) players on defense.EXCEPTION: NON CHAMPIONSHIP PLAY (refer Rule 1 Sec 17) –"

Rule 1 Sec 17 - Championship Play designates tournaments that carry the title of NIT,STATE, and REGIONAL AND WORLD SERIES

So any tournament that is not designated Championship Play you can start with 8 players in bracket play.
