The big organizations that are attracting talent to teams that travel to big showcases and/or compete for ASA/USA and PGF national championships are Lasers, Stingrays, and Ohio Outlaws. I know that MV Xpress, Ohio Hawks, Cincy Doom, Valley Extreme, Thunder Elite, Ohio Thunder, Wizards, (I can keep going), have players that have all been to or going to D1. However, there are top notch teams that have drawn D1 attention that are not from big organizations too. Maybe you can specify your dd's age and location, then we can tell you better.

I would say Outlaws or Lasers. I also know some Hawks girls have gotten good looks. Like alborules said, it would be helpful to know where in the state you are looking at moving, as there are also organizations in bordering states that might be a good fit as well.

Goldfastpitch.com search by state. Form your own conclusions. Some orgs. focus on early commits, others are on time commits. Narrow your search to 2 or 3, and do your homework. There are many factors to consider. Team fees and travel costs, average size of offers, etc. Start now and choose wisely. If you have to be sold on the deal it's probanly the wrong fit.

Ice and Wolfpack are two organizations close to Canton. What are thoughts on D1 recruitment from either of those programs?

Both Ice and Wolfpack are great organizations. There have been girls from both teams go D1, but lets face it.... if your a "stud" your going to be found. Granted being on a higher profile team never hurts. Strength of schedule is a must in my opinion. Just be sure and do your homework first, a big name doesn't guarantee a big scholarship, they've gotta put the time in during the season and the off season. Best of luck in wherever you decide to try out!

I would also consider the Beverly Bandits. Some years they even have Ohio teams.

Here are your top four according to their website info:
http://www.ohioladylasers.com/page/show/2168160-lasers-alumni
http://cincydoom.net/alumni.shtml
http://www.hometeamsonline.com/team...oftball&p=custom&pagename=College+Commitments
http://www.stingraysfastpitch.com/alumni/list

Some Honorable Mentions are:
http://www.ohiowolfpack.com/page/show/2125348-ohio-wolfpack-alumni
http://www.ohiohawks.com/
http://www.ohioicesoftball.com/ohio-ice-college-commitments/ Their website needs updated or they have been in a drought.
http://www.fastsoftball.org/Default.aspx?tabid=886567 This website needs some updating as well.
http://www.cincystatic.org/ I have to find link to Static Elite Easton, I could only find their current facebook and the old site but they too have had several ladies go on to D1 Schools. https://www.facebook.com/staticelitefastpitchclub/
http://www.mvxpress.com/ have had several D1 committs website needs updated as well

As I was browsing around its amazing how many organization websites are not up to date...You would think college commitments would be a big feather in the cap.

I would suggest contacting some HC of teams to find out what their 2017 needs are so you are not wasting time.
(The top programs generally do not turn over much from year to year so if DD is going to bump someone she has to stand way out).

If you contact the teams you may even get a chance to guest play since it looks like a couple are looking for help at their national.

If you have not already done so, attending NFCA Camps can help you get an idea of your players strengths compared to a couple hundred at the same position. These camps generally run with the larger showcase tournaments.

You also need to have an idea of the type of Education you are looking for. A big D1 showcase environment is much different than a smaller D1 so on and so forth.
I would think as you contact perspective travel teams they will also advise you to keep all options open and look for the right college fit 1st and not be fixated on a specific division of play.

Playing for a established organization is a big plus since most have a college coach network.
One must keep in mind that there are many pathways to playing D1 or lower college softball. There are also many variables to consider as you select a post secondary option.

You may struggle finding a home for two in the same organization at different age ranges but if you work hard enough and are willing to look at organizations not in the top 5 of D1 commitments it can be done.

Thanks for the info, CARDS.
It's interesting how many of the top teams have player crossover. The list of committed lasers players is quite impressive. One thing that caught my eye is how many of these players/parents travel all over the country but still end of playing on Ohio college campuses. Makes you wonder if all the travel is really needed.

One team (not mentioned) that has been extremely successful in getting players to college is Ohio Classics. They are one of the originals and still produce top athletes that colleges are interested in.

Yeah, there are several ladies that played for two or more of the teams/organizations I posted above. Sometimes coaches move to other organizations and take their team or a lot of their players with them or. they take credit because the lady played a year with them..
Other times the ladies or parents are just looking for a stronger college showcase schedule or softer travel schedule with good competition if they have already committed so they jump teams.

As far as the Classics I know a few of Doug Mix players went on to D1 schools and over the years the Classics have done well but again, when I went to look of organization info there was little to be had.

I am wondering if it is possible to determine D1 potential at the age of 10. These girls all develop at a different rate. A girl who is mid-level at 10 could turn out to be a stud at 13, after she hits her last growth spurt and puts on 4" and 30 pounds. Conversely, the big strong fast girl who developed early could stop growing so quickly and be passed up.
To the OP's question about organizations.....several people have provided great insight into the orgs that consistently produce top recruits. Not all great players come from those orgs, but you can't dispute the law of averages.

At 10u you are determining ability, amount of time and work dd wants to put into the sport, and trying to make spot in a a quality organization.

The original post was about 01 and 04 age players looking foe teams or organizations that have had the privilege to work with players / ladies as they make it to a D1 college program.
IMO, 10U-12U players should not be thinking of college...They need to focus on learning the game and how they can improve the way they play the game to benefit them and their teams as they grow in the sport.

I agree. Be the best at your level. When that happens, move to the next level, etc., etc.

Two days before the op started this post he posted this comment.
"Yes unfortunately that is the way it is. you can't deny it. These orgs keep the talent coming in especially at the recruiting level, so i am sure they have the track record to back the name."
Doesn't sound like someone who has no idea about which orgs are which. It looks like an attempt to stir the pot and possibly serve an agenda.

It's amazing how many orgs will use a kids name when they had nothing to do with her going to college. My daughter was already verbaled when one of the orgs asked me to come there and coach and they have her listed as one of their commits . Lol funny stuff
