Ohio Starz 05 were at Firefighters this weekend. We went 4-1 overall.

We went undefeated in pool play then winning one and losing one in bracket play.

Spc Hotsox '04 was at Aunt Rosie's and finished in top 8 of 26. This was our first tournament with our full team together since the fall. went 1-1 in rain shortened pool play to get the 10 seed. Went 3-2 overall losing to valley extreme buck in the quarters. We will be at thunder elite's perfect storm next.

We played in the Firefighters Memorial, we went into this tourney knowing we were going to be a little short handed on Sunday but just decided to ride out whatever the outcome was to be. We had couple of our pitchers step up and push us all the way to the end. In my eyes we had a pretty good weekend and these young ladies just find ways to win, even when their not on their "A" game. There is no quitting with these girls, they challenge themselves to get better every week. Never been around a group of kids that mesh together like this group, such team comradery, they all know their role and not a selfish bone in any of their bodies. The future is bright for these young ladies...

On our little journey to the championship game this weekend, we ran across some teams that have some ball players on it. Some teams that are just rebuilding a little, some that were scrappy no matter what name you had on your jersey, some that are a couple ball players away from being a real good team and then we ran across WV Firesticks. All we heard all weekend you're not going to hit this girl she throws 61+mph, man that sucks that was a really bad draw for you guys, this team has already beaten most of the top dogs. Well our girls didn't let any of that talk get to their head and took care of business putting up 7 legit runs, to earn a 7-1 victory. But that young lady in the circle for the Firesticks is the real deal, she's got a really big future in front of her and she does bring the HEAT...

Ohio Stingrays 04 returned home from Atlanta Legacy with a 17th place finish out of 64 teams. What a great tournament and the field is loaded. You can't take a game off when you play the Legacy as there are no teams that aren't top notch. We finished the weekend 4-2 and walked away knowing we represented our organization, our fans, and the State of Ohio very well.
