most are illegal. and the balls are still like little frozen rocks anyway. have an expendable back up to use with machine balls and games with temps under 50*.
I had a Demarini rep tell me one time that the problem isn't from the bat getting cold, but it's that the balls are cold and therefore too hard. I don't know if that is actually true, or if he just said that to take blame off of their product. Either way, the end result is still a broken bat.
Thanks for the responses. I’ve seen them used a couple times and wasn’t sure the purpose. Plus I watched a tournament in the cold where the dad would get the bat after dd uses it and then wraps it in a blanket until her next at bat. Wasn’t sure if there was a trick to keep it warm and you get better pop lol.
