Softball Player skills evaluation and assessment. Yep, little softball suzy is only 90 days away from the dreaded tryout season.

Questions to the Coaches, how do you assess the skills of a player during tryout?

Love this.
1. Hustle. Is she walking from the dugout to her position? Going full speed after a fly ball?
2. Coachable. If I give a quick pointer, is she responsive to it? Does she try to apply it in her next rep?
3. Attitude. Will she gel well with the returning players? Does she have bad body language after a bad rep?
4. Parents. Are her parents shouting at her during tryouts? Do they tell me about the 4 teams she's played for the last 4 years, and how the coach was a jerk? RED. FLAG.
5. Talent. Yes, it's 5th out of 5. But if she doesn't work hard, isn't coachable, isn't a fit with new teammates, and her parents will make things difficult, all the talent in the world does not mater.
