Had Blue Warn our pitcher. Stating not allowed to use a New "White" Catching Glove while pitching?!?

There used to be a rule that did not allow fielders to wear catchers/1B gloves anywhere other than those positions but I thought the rule changed a couple of years ago that allows players to wear any glove they want at any position. I could be wrong though.

This rule may actually be different depending on which sanctioning body’s rules you’re using. Do you know what rules were being used in this game?

Generally, white colored gloves used to be illegal back when a white ball was used. That’s changed now that the ball is optic yellow. But, again, there’s no “one size fits all” answer that applies to all organizations.

Blue must have been an old baseball guy... Nothing wrong with a white glove for pitchers now.

USSSA rule is that the glove can be any combination of colors except for the color of the game ball.

It sounds like this umpire was either about a decade behind on the rule changes or was just making stuff up.
