I can foresee all indoor sports activities being suspended along with the shutting down of bars, restuarants etc. Like you, I hope I'm wrong.

What they don’t know won’t hurt them. Lol. Herd Immunity will not happen unless we stay open. That’s the only way to stop all this craziness. I have experienced first hand what this virus can do to you. My mother spend May through August in the hospital and September in the nursing home. She made it. 2 of my sisters had it. No worse than a flu. Different affects on different people. Their idea of shutting us down is one step closer to socialism. It would kill our small businesses. Kill our economy as a whole. They will not have a true vaccine for another year to year and half. Herd immunity. That’s the answer. We will lose some older people I’m sure but if we wear a mask in mass gatherings and wash hands stay clean (things we should be doing anyways) we will get through this together, Not separate in our homes locked down scared of the world out there.

Bet you know what side I stand on. Proud of it. Do I believe they cheated to get in? No I believe It was the plan all along. My only hope is Trump wins in court! If not... Trump 2024!!

You're wrong. Young people can also die. And social distancing and masks were not invented because doctors believe in the miracles of the virus disappearing, but simply to slow its spread. Hospitals are overwhelmed and to prevent a medical collapse, we need to slow the spread of the disease. Yes, I know that COVID is easier to tolerate in terms of severity than the flu, BUT do not forget about the rate and extent of the disease. That is, a large number of people are simultaneously in serious condition, although this is a small percentage of the total number of patients. You have no right to decide whether older people or people with chronic diseases have a right to live.

So just some facts. 491 people under 24 have died from Covid. It is tragic, but less than what we typically loose from the flu in that age group.

Stop making it a choice!!!! We can protect our most at risk people, without destroying our youngest people.
World poverty levels have doubled among children, as a direct result of shut downs. Poverty is the #1 killer in the world!
Experts are warning of a increase in suicide & mental health issues. Substance abuse is on the rise!
Our older people are dying at a higher rate, without having Covid. Experts are pointing to isolation as the cause.
Who are you to marginalize all of these major concerns. We can do both!!!!

That @ALISA WEAVER is a troll account. Some of the stuff they post makes no sense at all. None.

Bottom Line DeWine said we will not shutdown but slowdown. We will be fine. I feel we will have great Winter workouts and great indoor events.

Let me ask a question or 2. You had family infected with the virus. Did you go give them a hug and a kiss? Did you go spend time with them and help them thru the mental and physical issues they experienced? If the answer is yes, did you do all this without the use of any protection? Herd Immunity. Here was an opportunity for you to be exposed, let the virus run its course, and bring it back to your own family, friends, and ball team for the betterment of mankind. If you did not take advantage of the opportunity, should anyone listen to your logic.

Another post on this topic suggests there's only a few young people dying from it and the they are more likely to be affected by the isolation factor than the virus. Perhaps the 2 of you could volunteer to spend time with infected people in their time of need. Volunteer to go care for those less fortunate that are infected. Hospitals and nursing homes, rehab facilities around the world would probably open their arms to you.

I'd be curious to know what the members of your ball team and organization would think of a leader with ideals insinuated in your post.

Food for thought................

Some very good points @daboss

Our family was impacted by the virus. My mother spent months in the hospital and nursing home. I was able to video chat with her everyday. I’m not saying we can go out and mingle with everyone at the clubs. I’m saying we can still practice and do indoor events and let these kids work on their skills and be kids. Is the answer a shutdown and no indoor workouts or events? We don’t know that but I would say in my opinion that’s not the answer. Parents on my team know where I stand. If you don’t feel safe that’s your opinion and I am ok with it. Do what you feel is right for you and your family. All I am saying is we will continue to workout through winter and if parents or athletes don’t feel safe then they will continue their workouts at home. That’s all. If we get the virus that’s on us. If we are keeping good hygiene like we should be anyways the chances of getting this virus are slimmer. Wash ur hands, take showers, use hand sanitizer and wear a mask in public.

we will all have to get this virus eventually. Just like influenza. Eventually they will have a shot for it. Maybe. But we can’t just stop everything and be scared.

My mother almost died from this virus. She’s 68yrs young and will be on oxygen for the rest of her life. She will be the first to tell you don’t live your life in fear. Don’t let this thing stop the world. You have to keep going and what happens happens. Our plan and path is already laid out. It doesn’t mean stop traveling your path. It’s how we decide to travel that path that’s laid out for us.

Stay Safe. Live Life. Have Fun!

Very well said on both points. There is NO right or wrong answer here. If you are comfortable letting your kids be kids and want your DD's to continue honing their skills go right ahead. I know we will continue to work throughout the winter months. Regardless of shut downs or not there will be plenty of indoor facilities that will still let you in.

If you do not feel safe or just don't want to take an unnecessary risk that is also 100% fine and no one would have the right to question it. That is part of what will hopefully continue to make this Country great. It affords you the personal freedom that allows you to make the proper decision for you and your family and not to be controlled by others.

please name all these over crowded hospitals you speak of. PLEASE!

I know many working in the ICU in multiple states and i hear the opposite. They have many many patients to deal with that are not covid related. Stop spreading fear! You sound like CNN and all the mob media crap they spew out. anybody watching those one sided "news" channels, (CNN, TWITTER, CBS, NBS FOX, MSN, MSNBC) you are brainwashed.

what dont you understand? I laid it out there in a very short and simple way to understand so let me explain a little more without getting into great detail

why are you afraid? MEDIA spreading fear - governors spreading fear - false virus numbers and deaths = fear , total government control and spreading fear - people driving in their cars by themselves wearing stupid masks and face shields , people walking their dogs with nobody around in the wide open air and still wear stupid masks... that's called made up fear and people are being brainwashed into it! FAKE FEAR. Why are you soooo afraid?

#1 this is America - land of the free. Freedom of speech, religion etc. FREE means FREE
2 - the cure cant be worst than the virus - do i need to explain this?
3- take care of you and your family... and everyone else will take care of theirs. nothing you can do about others so just take care of yours. control what you can control
4 - this is the USA - people have rights to make their own choices. We have a constitution. This is not CHINA and nor do we ever want it to be
5 - USA - land of free. Go to china if you want to live in a dictatorship.

I will not let the government dictate what i do, what i wear, tell me where i can go or cant go, how many people i can have over my home this thanksgiving or anytime.....

food for thought -

BOTH my daughters just had covid. BOTH tested positive and had minor sickness. 1 had slight headache and went away in 2 days and is now full health. The other had a little more intense sickness not worse than any flu that's for sure. She did have to get some steroids to help get her strength back. She was in bed for a few days ( OH NO!! -smh - samething with a flu so stop freaking) she is back to work now and fully healthy. nobody else in the household got it. NO we did not walk around the house in medical suits or masks or face shields. why the hell would we?

BOTH kids stayed in our home during the sickness. YES i hugged them both and kissed them on the head many times... NO PROTECTION - NO BODY SUIT - NO MASK - NO FACESHIELD- me and my wife and my son never got it and got tested... so what's the problem?

on the other hand, i know it is real. i know it can kill people. BUT so is the flu. the fake news just adds to the fear and unknown BUT the reality is we cannot shut down the country destroying the backbone that built this great country. all the small businesses closing their doors is good? people losing their jobs unable to feed their families due to the covid scare and shut downs is good and helping? what is it helping?.... mental health issues on the rise, murder, theft, riots, constant attacks on our POTUS and blame games because its all his fault, homes being broken up, divorses, suicide, domestic violence on the rise etc... whats worse? destroying America or getting thru it like we do every year and being smart. You / We cannot hide from this virus. Its a stinking virus. Not like we have never had a virus in the USA before. This virus is more political than anything and being way over blown bringing fear to every american that believes it is going to kill us all unless we mask up and stay home. COME ON MAN!

i say bullsh-t! Medical collaspe??? GIVE ME A BREAK!
lets say 10,000 people tested positive = herd immunity at its best and you should be happy not sad about it. how many died? probably zero maybe 1.
football players get it every week we see more and more week after week... but after sitting for 4 or 5 days they go play football and are fine. all 3 of my kids work in a grocery store..... If this virus was so deadly... they would be dead along with most the other grocery store workers.... right? 2 of my kids had covid and are 100% fine. who the hell knows where or how they got it. NOBODY KNOWS. If you get the flu, do you know how or when you got it? NOPE- NOWAY YOU KNOW
how many flu tests or cases are in hospitals... not much because they always say it covid. Covid means hospitals get money... get the idea now? nuff said.

guy hits a tree on a motorcycle but he died from covid? yeah OK.

Oh yeah and the new one from our RHINO governor WHINER...... covid obviously is a night time contagious virus right? only after 10PM - 5 AM you can get it. Safe all other times right? and this all makes sense to you?? I say BULLSH-T

have a great day friends. Sorry for the rant but I am PISSED OFF RIGHT NOW.

Okay, if you say that self-isolation and social distancing is bad, will you take responsibility for the health and lives of those people you might infect? There are international protocols. And as the practice has shown, total isolation helped stop the disease in some countries, reducing the number of cases to just a few. In our country, with games of democracy, statistics are steadily growing. And all why? Because we do not believe in anything and each of us sets imaginary rules for himself. Yes, I agree that in some states the burden on hospitals is small. But my relatives are faced with the fact that patients are placed in the hallway because there is not enough room in the wards. And this is a real experience of real people. My aunt was treated for COVID and was kept on a gurney in the hallway for three days. You can believe, you can not believe, maybe somewhere the statistics are artificially inflated or underestimated, but the fact of the virus exists and it is dangerous for many people. Even young and healthy people can suffer complications and need oxygen supply. Don't be frivolous.

I have waited nearly 3 weeks for you to come back and respond to your comments in the Bat Breaking thread...

Could you please go there and explain how your "bit" breaks because the wood fibers are on an angle??? We are all wanting to learn more about this from you!
