Nice work Static 10u! Solid bats as the temperature warmed up! Great day all in all and many solid hits. Nice job Ali having 2 in the park HR's today. Stingrays team is a solid 9u team and have a player that mashes!! Glad I got to see those two play!

Yes, they played very well! They are a great group of girls and coaches! I can't say enough good things about them. I am looking forward to watching them grow throughout the season.

Thanks for the comments Lou! It was our pleasure to play against such a talented (and speedy!!) team!! Winning with grace and respect seems to be a lost art in this sport, and others can certainly learn from the example you are setting for your girls. You have a great group of girls, and we wish you luck this season!! Hope to see you on the diamond again!

We were down there watching and it was a bomb, but also I believe talking to people down there that the stingrays 9u actually only has like 3 9u players on their team? How can they be called a 9u team?

NWO123.. I believe we are called a 9U team because over half of our players are 9 years old. I'm sorry, but you were misinformed.
We took on a couple ten year olds just for leadership purposes within the team. This is every single girl on our teams first year in travel ball and every one of these girls came straight from rec ball.. including 00 who hit the bomb over the fence.

We are extremely proud of each one of them. Like Lou said.. It's going to be fun watching them grow and continue to develope this season!

Thank you Hawks and Lester for your comments as well. We also enjoyed playing the Hawks 02 team. Solid team and just an over all great weekend of ball!

So can I ask what your count is, so if you have 11 girls and 6 are 9u and 5 are 10u, that is a 9u team?

They have to be 03 They cant have any 02 and still be 03. Although 00 is the biggest 03 I have seen, theyre coaching staff is stand up and dont see them lying.

I have 11 year olds on my team but they were 10 Jan 1, hense we are still 10u. Some parents just get tghings mixed up and it spreads bad gossip. I will say Stingrays coach pulled a brillant move pitching his slower pitcher we couldnt adjust to the spped difference, and when we did and put up a quick 4 runs he put in the heat. Good move my friend, well played. :)

So lets ask this question to the stingrays coach, how many girls on you team move up to 12u next year and how many will still be eligible for 10u, based on his last post I am guessing half his girls move up next year! So once again how can they be called a 9u team?

As long as his oldest player was 9 years old on Jan 1st they are a 2013 season 9u. A mute point really all the tournamanets they will play in will be 10u. Hard to find a 9u division.

:D Thank you, Hawks!
I will say that when you went into your dugout telling your girls you couldn't understand why they were not hitting the ball given the slower speed.. My pitcher actually giggled on the mound! Funny moment..
It was fun playing you guys! Look forward to seeing you again, but I guess I will have to come up with a different move since you figured me out;)
