Ohio Ice White was off this weekend. Congrats to Lasers Teal for winning their bid to ASA Nationals and to Finesse for having a great tournament and making it to the finals. We will be at ASA State Tournament this upcoming weekend and looking forward to some great competition!!!

Thanks ICE! Lasers Teal won the OFC Heatin it up tournament in Wilmington and for those who have asked previously about the Finesse Flores team, I can say after seeing them this weekend that they are definitely a top 10 team, they played well, have great bats and catch everything. We have a great deal of respect for this team and look forward to seeing them in future tournaments.

Ohio Storm 06 - USA RVBFY Summer Classic USA ENQ Tournament Champions. Went 7-1 on the weekend, lost pool game 1 and that lit a fire under the girls and played at high level the rest of the weekend. Congrats to Lady 83 for a fun and exciting Championship Game and SGS Magic is a very talented and well coached team. Play next week at ASA States, should be fun.

Loco Mamacitas played up in the 12U division at the Westerville Warcats Invitational. We went 3-0 in pool play despite being much smaller than most of the girls in the opposite dugout. My catcher actually had to stand straight up to give a target on a high fastball for a couple girls . Word definitely got out about us by Sunday as the first team we played came out and played very well knocking us off in the first bracket game. From a hitting stand point our kids were way ahead of pitches all weekend (Probably 95% of our hits were to the left side) as they adjusted to that extra 5 feet of distance between them and the pitcher. We did finish the weekend with just 1 strikeout from my regulars (My sub struck out a few times) which I thought was pretty good for four games. Overall it was a good experience for our kids as we always enjoy playing the underdog role.

Thunder Elite 06 was off this weekend. We will be at ASA state tournament this weekend. Congrats to Teal on winning a bid to Nationals.

Lasers Silver traveled up to Toledo to the Wizards Farely Memorial, we were supposed to play at the OFC tourney but since we had our bid already we decided to find something else. We couldn't get in anywhere and were finally able to get in up north, thank you to the Wizards for letting us in! It was a well ran tourney and thankfully the rain held off, we went 7-0 outscoring our opponents 96-4

We will see everyone at States this weekend!

Young team that all live within 11 miles of one another. We are currently 33-40-5 overall and 24-16-2 this Spring. We have played 78 games to date with only 10 girls. We have played against the big dawgs: Laser Silver, Loco Mamacitas, Lightning Gold06, Ohio Storm06, MV Express06, UTrip Navy, and it has given us valuable experience. Interested to see this coming year, hardly ever do you see a community travel team within the top 10, but if this team stays together and continues to work it could possibly crack the top 10. It will be tough with Ohio Thunder007, Ohio Starz07, Stingrays07, Lightning Blue, Central Ohio Pride07 knocking off some great 06 teams this year. We have everything you need to be successful. Slappers and speed at the top, big boppers in the middle and the entire team bunts and plays defense fairly well. Baserunning will need to worked on though. Also, it will be crucial for the young pitchers to pick up more velocity and continue working on location with their fastball. They don't give out very many free passes and change speed very well, but 40 mph is BP and hard to throw past anyone even seeing a 30 mph change.

Wizards Frenzy played in the Farley Memorial in Toledo this weekend. We went 4-3 on the weekend with 2 losses to a great Lasers Silver squad. Being a first year team we are still learning how to win in tournament play. I see growth every weekend and hope to continue that trend heading to ASA State tournament this weekend. Overall record 29-17-1. Notable wins against Wolfpack, MV Express, Thunder 06, Ohio Hawks 06, SGS Magic Red.

Finesse Flores were at the OFC Heatin It Up Tournament in Wilmington last weekend for our third tournament of 2017. We ended up runners up to Lasers Teal who had to beat us twice to win the tournament.

Central Ohio Ice Minister played at the Warcat Invitational last weekend. A big shout out to the Westerville Warcat organization for another great tournament. The girls played their best ball this year and everything was on point this weekend offense defense and being great teammates. Total we scored 52 runs and only gave up 1. Our pitching was outstanding this weekend. A shout out to the Big Katz who were the 2 seed and made it to the championship game another young talented team for sure with just a couple older girls.

The girls fought some adversity through the heat and long wait times which had our overall energy and effort down. (Not to mention this being our first overnighter and all of the distractions this brought to our young team). Thanks to all of the teams and coaches we faced. Good competition and a fun weekend overall!
