I want to hit GAPPS bad... we made a commitment last fall for ALL our teams to play in a tourney that weekend ... I tried to pull out to go to GAPPS and my board shot me down.

Sometimes "you can't fight city hall"... understand, to bad.

Even if you happen to be the Mayor! The board is afraid of the parents. .. we have a lot of families with 2 or 3 girls in the organization ... they hate to have to pay dual hotel fees - so we try and book as many dates together for everyone's sake.

The talent at 10U is amazing this year. The tournaments we have played this year left no room for teams to not be on their A game. I have had a few conversations with Matt from the Classics and Jamie from the Nitro. If you took the best 14-15 girls from Ohio to the ASA Nationals those warm weather teams would be in trouble!

I think that's similar to what eric (spirit 10u) is going through gapps weekend. An important tournament that he can't let his girls out of w/o the wrath of the parents. i know he wants to be down there. With the Hawk and Spirit there, gapps would be the premiere event at the 10u level like it is at the older age brackets.

that said, with teams entered the tournie is shaping up to be pretty high level anyway and in no way are we overlooking any team entered. That includes you coach tad (purple 9's)......

we'll see everybody there.

Lady Lasers would like to thank the Lady Roadrunners for the competitive and fun friendly today. It was great to get competitive games and good situational play in a friendly atmosphere. Great pitching and catching by the Roadrunners and great plays by the centerfielder!

Look forward to meeting up with you at GAPSS.

3 of the top 10 will play next weekend in Akron; Lasers, Thunder, and VE, plus 2 more honorable mentions Chix and Grizzly. Should be a good time.

Dear Lasers: Please take it easy on us!:)

Doug, nice job tonight. The Hawks(10u) showed some experience and pressured in late innings to pull away. Have to say though OFC Heat seems to be getting better each game out, and appear to be on the road to making some waves.

Hope to see you late tomorrow..^_^!

Great job OFC Heat. Keep working hard, it is happening.

The OFC is coming ... I loved the energy they had over there ... we just got home. We went back-back semi/championship games with the Cannons and Sting ... we are exhausted. The Sting really showed me something tonight, KK hit a wall in pitching her second straight game and the Sting really hit the ball in the 4/5/6th innings.. they came back on us from 7-2 to tie it at 9 in the top of the 7th. We pulled it out in the bottom of the 7th with a solid single, bunt, and finally a passed ball steal of home to win. We were down to 9 players and 1 of those was sick and the girls gutted it out. I have to say - the Sting too are coming and are a very nice solid 10u team... thanks OFC - for a GREAT tourney - great park and the OFC folks did an awesome job with the fields!

Thanks Bob and Doug. We are improving, but we still have a lot of work to put in. It was a big challenge and great experience for our girls to play some great teams like the Hawks Gold and Miamisburg Sting this weekend at Heatin' It Up. Just from looking at the scores, all the teams there played hard and battled.

The Pittsburgh Lady Roadrunners want to thank Bill, the Lasers 10U, and the Laser parents for a great day on Saturday. It was well worth the trip for the friendly competition and outstanding play. The Lasers are even more impressive up close and on the same field. Keep up the hard work ladies.

See you at the GAPSS tourney.
