Thunder Elite is an outstanding team ... no question in my mind that they are not only the best 12-U team in Ohio, but probably would be one of the best 14-U teams as well if they played at that level. With that being said, baseball and softball are funny games ... on any given day, a team with not quite as much talent will beat a stronger team. This is a game of inches ... the strike zone, the sweet spot on the bat, the close calls at first, a line drive right at an outfielder or just out of reach of an infielder ... and then throw into the equation time limits/shortened games, and anything could happen. Some good teams will beat them no doubt ... but only someone ignorant would be baited into trash talking them ... they are the team to beat this year in 12-U, and no one needs a poll to see that.

Wolfpack-Chevalier competed this weekend at the "Original" Mapleleaf we finished the weekend 5-1.

Won v. Ohio Energy, Hott Soxx, Orange Crush, Outlaws00, Valley Extreme-Kelm
Lost v. Ohio Sapphires00

Having competed in 20 games in the last 3 weekends, I am proud of our young group we have competed against many top 15 teams. Thunder Elite, Lasers Orange, Ohio Ice Black are the tops of course, but it sounds like some of the teams down south would like to get together. I will agree with Gotribe1 the Ohio Sapphires00 looked as good as anyone we have seen this past weekend. They have some strong players. We didnt have our A game and they beat us silly. Their hitting and pitching was on. I was equally impressed with the Ohio Blast lately and of course Grand Slam. Not many 11u pitchers throw as hard and well as Mr Kelms daughter on his fabulous team that we fought hard against for the second week.

Props out to the Wolfpack Roby 10U who won the MapleLeaf and the Wolfpack99's-Fogle who were finalists in the 14U Ohio-Penn in Canton(highest Ohio finishing team).

Eddie, always a pleasure to play against a great team like yours, it's the best thing for our girls to become extreme competitors! Looking forward to many more.

Static 00 is no joke. Patient at the plate and next to perfect in the field. Hope we meet again. Great game!
Thanks you are a tough team as well. It is unfortunate that tournament brackets were predetermined. That would have been a great match up late on Sunday

Well said Coach, trash talking is cheap, believing and saying that it can happen is another.

I am the HC of orange crush & i would like to thank bob h. for putting on a great maple leaf tournament this past weekend. 1st of all i want to say my girls earned their championship appearance by going 4-0 on sunday n it was a priviledge to play the sapphires n the title game. my team had 1 bad inning in 5 games on sunday, we committed 4 errors n the 1st n gave up 8 runs. I do not know if it would have made a diff. cause that sapphires team could really hit. but what i do know is my girls didn't quit. they clawed, scratched, n fought but could only manage 4 runs but i am extremely proud of our effort. 2nd of all i beat a young but up n coming lake extreme team n the round of 8 n it was back n forth the whole game n we scored 2 n the last inning to win. For the 1st time n my life i felt bad for another team, there were 2 little girls w tears rolling down their cheeks that held their heads high n shook hands w class. sportsmanship comes from good coaching and good parenting.(first class lake extreme). NOW for the down side of softball... last year my team finished 3rd twice n 16 team tournaments n now a title appearance n a 14 team tourney yet some classless parents choose to make disparaging remarks about my girls. ONE person went so far as to say we ****.(its funny that those remarks always come from someone we just beat) others choose to tell me how lucky we are n my response to that is... we must get lucky a lot cause we had a winning record last year n now a 2nd place finish this year. n case ur thinking i only choose tounaments when the top teams aren't there. Our first 3rd place finish last year had both valley extremes n both thunders 99 & 00's n we lasted longer than all of them. (no offense jeff) Did we knock out thunder 00 no, do i think i could beat thunder 00 on my best day? no (THEY R THE BEST TEAM I HAVE EVER SEEN) but he is the only one who ever gives us any respect.(he was willing to scrimmage us twice). so don't throw rocks at others if u live n a glass house. WORDS R LIKE WEAPONS THEY WOUND SOMETIMES. IF U WANT TO LEARN WHAT SOFTBALL SHOULD B ABOUT GO TO facebook.com/orange.crush.31924 scroll down n watch the crush 2013 video. WE MAY NOT B A TOP 10 TEAM IN OHIO BUT I WOULDNT TRADE 1 OF MY 12 GIRLS FOR THE BEST PLAYER OFF THUNDER,LASERS ORANGE, OR ICE BLACK. i have already had 3 parents from opposing teams ask me when my tryouts r this year cause only half my team moves up this fall n my 12u n 14u teams will both need girls. N believe me they r not asking cause were the best. They must realize that when u play for orange crush ur part of a family. "LUCK IS FOR THOSE WHO WERE UNPREPARED".

Steve: I met you last year during one of the never-ending rainstorms in the summer Jaguars tournament. If I remember correctly, you just wanted your team to be consistent. They were amazing one game, then off the next. Now, in just your second year, you string together 4 in a row on a Sunday. Congrats!

Steve, While we are not close friends and I do not know you off the field, anytime we have spoken or played you and your team have always treated the game with respect. I see a lot of positive reinforcement, smiles and strength of character in how your girls respond to wins or losses. In the middle of one of your games in Aurora you made it a point to seek me out and offer words of encouragement after hearing about my decision to step down as a coach, knowing that it was an extremely difficult and painful decision. Classy. You and your organization are on a short list of people I would want my kids to play for. Good luck in the future, you are doing it the right way. Thanks coach.

Steve,

Great job this weekend and your girls really did fight and deserve a tremendous amount of credit for the way they played. You had them well prepared and while I might not have agreed with the strike zone we both had to live with I had no problem losing a great game like that to a class set of girls and coaches. Great job and I hope we get the chance to meet up more often this summer. Those will be some fun games!!!
