I'm trying to get my team together for April 11th, if you'll have us. Will let you know later this week.

We won't be the prettiest on the field because we won't have our uniforms yet but the girls will play. We are a new team and haven't even begun our outdoor practices. What better way to see where we stand but to start off with some friendlies.

Come on out.. we play in our 'dirty' grays! We will pair you up with teams that will be good for your girls to play and we will keep it light - it is a great time to work on things and instruct your girls. We scrim'd this weekend with our Hawks 12u team - between the 2 teams there were 9 girls that pitched in the 13 inn we played...

Sorry for the formatting... did the gang from ASA design this forum software... can someone explain why when you select a proportional font - ie Courier - and space out the characters to align the columns the editor removes the spaces and all the text runs to the right...

Middletown LL has practice in the morn - when you arrive feel free to setup across from the concession stand / parking lot in the Grass soc-c-er field area ... at 12:30p the LL will end, they will drag and we will prepare the diamonds ... be ready to start as soon as we get the diamonds ready...

Doug why do you guys call these "friendlies"?

I thought we were supposed to kick the other teams backside and stomp them in the ground and kick dirt on them and call them names!

No wonder we can not get them fired up to play a game....they make friends with the other teams and then take it easy on them!

I was told one coach made his players play with a BB in their shoes to remind them to make the other team hurt just like the BB was doing to their feet! :lmao:

That is funny ... I hear you - believe it or not we actually got all 9 games in today - in between a couple 40 min rain delays it was great (but windy) ... we call them friendlies but we all keep score and heck we are playing to win - but still rotating in players every inning... reminds me of the NFCS article I read a couple months ago about playing ALL your players as much as you can ... it only makes your TEAM better - we are finding that out in a big way.

Thanks to the players and parents of the SDS, DOOM 97 and Dragons 97 teams -we had a great day of softball in some tough conditions until around 6pm when it got sunny and warmer out...
