The TD posting tournment scores, especially bracket is great. Might be too much to ask to also post "pool" play, but a final seeding going into elimination round like VE does is helpful?
I usually don't post when we don't do well, but that is not to duck a poor outing. I just seems kind of indulgent to come on and say, "hey, we lost in quarter-finals and finished 8th out of 12" .... who cares?
If we do well in a tournament, however, I try to post not just what we did, but also the overall gist of the tournament. Semi-finals & championship at minimum. At least you can then see who was standing late into the tournment, and how the late key match-ups went down. Teams that at least are getting to semi's regularly within good fields of competition are noteworthy as well ... IMHO.
As pointed out, many teams can put an "A" line-up on the field that can compete with anyone, for one game, but may be challenged to win a series. Guess over the season, compilation of information, and match-ups in some big tournaments will paint the picture, over time.
What we have presently may still leave opportunities for improvement, but we are a lot further ahead than we used to be. More importantly, interest & "friendly" debate are a good thing for the sport. This is still at an early stage of organization. And, ... even VERY mature "poll driven" sports like college football still leave teams and fans very dissatisfied at times, with what seems unfair or overlooked at times.
I would think, the the "scores" section on OFC would suffice for posting results week to week. Who is more motivated and better suited to post results than either the TD or the winning team? Just be sure to drill down a level to talk about the "Final 4" ... at least. Once posted, there is plrenty of opportunity for others to chime in regarding details & special circumstances, or to just compliment a team that is flying underneath the radar (whether they want that exposure or not, lol).
Sorry for the long post, just lots of thoughts stimulated by all of the interesting comments from others.
