14U Coaches' Poll - Week of 7/06/09

Every tourney that EMR has entered when we were there they won and they are not even in the top ten?????

The Central Ohio Ice team did seem to struggle in the fall and begining of the summer(not on the team just my opinion)however; they have really come together and are a very solid team. I have seen them beat some good teams recently. They do deserve the credit.

need info --- how have the sapphires and valley ext done against the rest of the top ten ?


Also the Central ohio ice getting more votes than Buckeye Heat 94 and Ice -silver is silly. Ice silver had a solid gapss (only lost to the maddogs 1-0)and had won 3 tournies in a row , who have the Central O Ice been beating to deserve a look ? MD

I think the point he's making is....which team did CO Ice beat that is already in the top ten?

I know that we, HOO Explosion, have only played some of the teams currently in the top ten this late in the summer. I know that for a minute there was a thread to post your results every weekend, but it didn't seem to catch on. I know that I'm too busy planning Tuesday's practice. In that spirit...here are our results so far against this week's poll teams:

WINS: Maddogs(twice), Ohio Dragons, CO Ice, & Flamin Fury
LOSSES: Lasers Red (score 3-0), VE Kiser (score 2-0), Lasers Silver (record vs 1-2)
NOT PLAYED: Ashland Blaze, Sapphires, Ohio Wave, Chain Reaction, Buckeye Heat 94, Ice, Classics, Ohio Blast, EMR

Have to give a shout out to the 14U Maddogs team. They played up this weekend at 16U down in Loudonville and went 3-0 in their pool and had us on our heals the entire time we played them in bracket play. Seemed to be very well coached and fundamentally sound team. A great hitting group as well. When tryouts come around I would give this team a look.

As far as the Ice teams go, Ohio Ice Silver deserves a spot, but I feel Central Ohio Ice does not. Not saying they're not a good team but I definitely don't think they're close to top ten! I also believe Doom '95 could deserve a better spot, but not sure how they've done against higher ranked teams.

Ohio Ice Silver is no doubt a better team than Central Ohio Ice, we have played both. Doom95 should at least be tied for third since they beat Valley this weekend at Stingrays. Doug has built a power house.

Ohio Ice Silver is diffenently better then shown. They just won our tournament and at times dominated the other teams. Some very good teams were in our tournaments.

We the Explosion out of Portage county have played the Ice four times this year. They are a top six or seven team. Solid in every phase of the game including coaching. If someone from the Ice reads this tell them to get a hold of me so we can scrimmage before Nationals. There coach has my e-mail and phone number.
