I'm not so sure its arrogance, I think more ignorance especially with his last statement. Larry is quite the pot stirrer on here, but when asked a simple question about their schedule, plays dumb then gets his feathers ruffled about it. Ohio Power picked up a heck of a representative on here ;&

:lmao:

God I do love this site! I'll ask again..... why do ya wanna know the schedule so bad? If were gonna play each other I get it then, but if not..... just curious? And yes my "junior" statement was childish....... get used to that. Its all in good fun folks......

Larry your arrogance is astounding. Ohio power has been around for how long? Quite frankly, your organization hasn't really played big named tournaments and placed high. However, between you and Frank tooting your own horns you guys are making a good name for yourselves.

Yeah I know they haven't been around that long.....why is everyone so serious about schedules? Were in lasers Orville breast cancer shoot out both maple leafs, Toledo tune up, nationals in Tennessee. There may be more but I'll have to check......if that OK?

Childish and inappropriate innuendo on a forum that is committed to children. Wow. Ironically Larry, you and I both have the same "join date". However you have 500 odd posts more than me so I'm still carrying that junior status. It's called a "FILTER". You might want to look into owning one.

Its also a "Forum"..... and "filter" is a dirty word to me. Look, all joking aside, I posted what I can remember about the schedule. But I'm little caught up in work and other sports with my son as well. The whole idea of posting the schedule....ehh, I know people wanna see the strength of the schedule, ( or lack of in some cases)..... but really first yr 14u....they're gonna take some licks, but they'll dish some
out too.

By the way id appreciate you not making negative comments about the power. I don't coach, but those girls work their butts off. And for u to say they don't place well..... who r u to judge anyway? They're a solid team this year...... who r u with "jdcii"? Just curious.....

I wasn't judging. You acted like everyone should know who Ohio Power is. I also didn't say you don't place high. I said the organization hasn't reached out and played in a lot of high level tourneys and in those you haven't placed high. I've seen your team play, you have a nice competitive team. I certainly wasn't knocking the organization. I find it hard to swallow the constant self promoting by you and Frank. Let your team's actions speak for themselves. You'll eventually get the recognition you seek if you play the higher level tourneys.

You want to talk this out, feel free to PM me.

Back on the subject...I think just about anything with the "laser tag" attached is usually pretty tough. I'm looking forward to seeing what laser red will do once they gel. (not a slight on any other laser team) Static will be tough, and Hawks Kepple has some tough young ladies as well. DD is not 14u or affiliated with any of these teams. If You feel like I missed your team, then I probably haven't seen you play.

Tough to count out any laser team. Lasers Gray has an excellent catcher....not that the rest of the team can't play but the catcher is the only one I've seen play.

Not for nothing, but being from PA and playing in Ohio some, I've only heard of Ohio Power from this board. At one point or another we have played Lasers, Hawks, Stingrays, Jaguars, Thunder Elite, Static, Doom, HOO Something, Wizards, Buckeye Heat, MC Madness, ICE, and a few others. All were fine teams. Win some, lose some. But those are the teams/organizations I think of when talking

OH softball. Apologies to any similarly accomplished teams I didn't mention…we probably never played you :)

What PA. Team? My dd former team from last yr just picked up a girl from pa.......first yr 14u.....

Wow. I just wanted to know who everyone has seen/played that they were impressed with. I have heard of Ohio Power on here, but I have never seen them play. I do know there are quite a few of the "non-top" teams that will probably surprise people this year, but I'm not about to bring those out yet. Ha!

I will say that I think there are a lot of really great players in this age group. Could make for some interesting games and tournament results.

We played Michigan Pride this past weekend and they were tough, they had some big bats. We saw the Lasers Purple play a couple weeks ago but didn't get the opportunity to play them, they should be tough as well. We also saw the Pittsburgh Spirit play a couple weeks ago and they had a pitcher who was throwing really hard, they should be pretty good too.

Come out to Spano next weekend and you should be able to pick a few from that list. Looks like some serious competition!

Doubt they will gel, to many "dads" coaching

 are all the coaches dads or something? There's alot of teams though with dads coaching that do very well. I'm sure there are those that dont do so well either. Guess we'll have to wait and see.

My DD had a couple oppurtunities to work out with the Lasers Red and I will say those girls work hard, hustle and are very talented girls who seem to be very coachable and I hope they do well! As far as traveling down that road of "Daddyball" everybody has a story or an opinion on that topic. There are teams out there that are coached by non-parents that have there "GEL" issues too, wether its talent, coaching or both. it's early give it time.

Why the debate about Lasers Red? They have always been good, are good now and always will be good. They have good coaching and the girls work hard. All I know is that if you want to compete with them you better put on the big girl pants and be ready to go or else you are in for a butt warming but if that is the case it will only be a few innings thanks to the mercy rule in affect. I am not in this age group but I know we will see them as they are in a few tournaments we are in. Our schedule is pretty aggressive in itself so if they are playing up in the tournaments that we are playing in I know they are not messing around and are taking it very seriously.

I have no problem with Mommy of Daddy ball as long as Mommy or Daddy is firm, consistent, fair, fun, knowledgeable, and present. If he or she knows the game, and puts in the hours learning to coach better, self assesses his or her performance, and does what's best for the girls, I'm all for it. If the passion is there whether its a 0-10 blowout or a 2-1 walkoff in the 7th inning, and if she or he teaches the kids sportsmanship and how to lift each other up, then any mom or dad can coach my daughter. If they enjoy a beer, that's a plus too.

I consider us lucky to have four very knowledgeable dad coaches that are willing to dedicate their time and work with the girls ;)

Well said. I don't think the earlier post about "daddy" ball was meant to be disrespectful, (I'm assuming) but if you've ever had a bad experience w/ that type of ball it leaves an awfully bad taste in your mouth. Best of luck to you this yr. Maybe we'll meet up at laser nation?, or perhaps Orville.
