I just want to thank whoever turned in my daughter's glove. She was pretty tore up about losing it, and I told her no one will turn that thing in. Sure enough, some Good Samaritan turned it in. Nice to know there are still good honest people out there...so whoever you are, we thank you!!!

NO rakes, drags chalked lines in the 14u again this year. Great teams to play, just wanting for better conditions to play them. Moved pitchers plate and didnt even mark circle. Come on people take a little pride in your tournament.

I believe the field prep must be done by the City of Dayton and there is nothing the Hawks org can do about that. Dayton needs to step it up and prep the fields. However, what's with the mush balls? The bats sound dead....even the "breaking glass sound" Xeno's.

On the 12u fields the Hawks people were working on the fields. At least you didn't have brush coming up in your infield.

If you don't chalk, don't rake and don't have temp fencing. Don't worry, they will still come. No reason to complain, because it is like this every year and will not change. It is what it is. Nice on getting the glove back Hammers and we have three taking ACT tomorrow. Will be going with nine for first game. Good luck to everyone and I hope no one gets hurt on those sorry fields.

What? Don't change? Really? The dayton maint crew was there re-lining fields all day .. yea, they were understaffed, but they did a very good job, much better in years past. We had parents hand raking fields at Delco and Kettering all day as well... I think the complex diamonds did not get as much work from the hand rakes, but I know the City crew went over and hit the fields there prior to the 6pm games. They also put up 3 temp fences, the white kind, again 3 more than in years past. I wish it was a perfect world and we had 11 fences but it is what it is when working with the Dayton City .. we are slowly getting them to do more...

We did hand rake at Delco 14u, and at Kettering at the quad and 12u... you are right, only so much we are allowed to do - we are not allowed to drop line.... Interesting mush balls - they were new balls from Wilson...

You can start a game with 8 (see Rule 4 1.D.1). The vacant position must be the 9th spot in the batting order and you'll take an out whenever it is scheduled to bat.
You can also continue a game with just 8 in the batting order as long as you're not shorthanded due to an ejection.
If a substitute arrives during the game, they can be inserted immediately.

I didnt get up on the main complex till later in the day, but on the middle quad the fields were redone between the 2nd and 3rd games.
The city of Dayton has stepped up their efforts this year. It is what it is, youre not going to satisfy everybody all the time, by the looks of the same people complaining again this year.

The fields around the concession weren't touched from our first game until our last. First bracket game this morning the field doesn't have a hint of white lines anywhere and you can barely see the bags. Lol

The fields I can deal with. The bigger problem was there was NO ONE in charge of the 18U bracket. Pool play ended with the 1:00 games and bracket play began at 4:00. I walked around the park 3 times in an hour and 15 minutes and not only was there no TD at the main complex or entrance to update brackets; the only tournament bracket was posted at the outer fields, and they were not updated. Our pool had a three-way tie. The people in charge dropped the ball on this one, as we were supposed to be the #2 seed. We didn't find out until after the #3 seed took our spot and jumped on the field and played another pool's #3 seed. That left us playing another pool's #2 seed. With no scored posted, and two sets of rules with different tie breakers listed (one set said run differential after head to head and the bracket sheet said runs allowed after head to head); it was left up to the teams to move on however they felt. My team played the remaining open field, which was the incorrect game. I ran around the park trying to track down someone - anyone - to handle the bracket chart. Never found a person in charge. Very Poorly Handled.

Are there any scores or Tourney updates being posted anywhere on this site? I am at work and would rather be at the games, but have no way of getting scores/updates on this tourney. :-(
