Tournament was not handled well. Games could have been played on Friday. Drop dead rule for elimination games should NEVER be used. The last 5-10 minutes of games are a joke - teams in field trying NOT to get outs and teams batting trying TO GET OUTS. We scored 5 runs in bottom of last inning and then had to try to get outs to get inning in book. Other team was throwing balls in dirt and purposely hitting players so the inning would not be over before drop dead time. Make time shorter and finish the inning.

Were you ahead? Score should never revert if home team is ahead and batting when time expires. Score always reverts in top half and only in bottom half if it gives the home team a better outcome (i.e. win/tie). Score should never revert to home team's detriment regarding outcome of game.

This tournament was screwed up from the start I can't blame the weather or field conditions on Explosive. The weather is pure Ohio weather and the fields are the city of Strongsvilles but drop dead revert in bracket play and a text message saying "cancelled losers bracket sending out new schedule" that was it no sorry and TD refused to answer phone. For a supposed top flight organization it was just sad

Spent the whole weekend there and from all of the tourneys we have been to it was very poorly ran. There were NO field crews anywhere at any time. The last minute changes and lack of notices were pathetic. NO THANKS!

Hey now. We host a tournament at Shady Park in North Ridgeville every year. The city workers do a great job to get them ready in the morning and then we as an organization are responsible for keeping them playable. We are allowed to buy and use diamond dry, rake fields, and reline them ourselves. Our parents and board have busted our butts every year to get in every game and we as an organization have always spent whatever it takes in diamond dry to keep the games going. One year I believe we bought and used 6 pallets for those 9 fields. Needless to say we didn't make much money at all that year, but the games were played.
Not to hijack the thread, but the city of North Ridgeville spent tens of thousands of dollars on those fields this spring and they played perfectly for us. I just don't want to be lumped in with anything being hosted at Victory Park. These are two separate complexes with much different rules for hosting. One is owned by the city and costs a pretty penny to rent (Shady Park) and the other is privately owned and whoever hosts is at the mercy of Victory Park.

If the team that wins their bracket turn down the bid, does the 2nd place team get awarded that bid?

This tournament was one of the worst run and disorganized messes that I have seen. Between the lack of communication and poor field crews, drop dead games, and to just drop the loser's bracket games (come on) I will not return to this tournament again. To me it appeared that they were just trying to not pay any money back for their lack of efforts!

The competion was great at 12U! That being said. Let's get to the heart of the conversation for 12U and it seems like other age groups. Aside from the ground crew being a complete joke. The text system was nice but a little unreliable based an the frequency of it changing consistantly. I saw one person representing the hosting organization at the 12U fields and I believe he was tryin very hard to his best with very little support fron the grounds crew and the TD. As far as the TD goes. His email which posted says he is out of the office until March 21st??????????????. The phone number given says it has been disconnected?????? The umpires. Well that is another discussion. We experienced some good ones and some very bad. Example: Before ground rules the ump warned the coaches about parents comments before the game and they would be immediatly tossed. That shouldn't even be discussed at gound rules. My opinion. I could go on and on. Overall I would give this tournament for this year a failing grade. Just my opinion and just regarding 12U. Agian about the umps some good some bad. Hoewever, the bad over shadowed the good. Again just my opinion.
