2013 Metro Dayton ASA/USA Qualifier / College Showcase

Metro Dayton ASA will be providing both an USA/ASA National Berth and an Eastern Regional berth for the top two finishers in each age group. The 16u/18u teams will be playing in the main 5-diamond complex all weekend and under the lights, giving ample opportunities for college coaches to catch as many games as possible.

There will be 1 USA/ASA National Berth AND 1 ASA Eastern Regional awarded per age group.

Pool Play will be 1:20 - No New Inning. Bracket will be 1:40 - complete the inning, proceed to ITB. Losers/Winners bracket finals, no time limit

Straight ASA Championship rules for elimination play. Roster bat for pool play. Head coaches must present ACE certification.

Teams must be sanctioned ASA within the state of Ohio for 2013. Teams withdrawing after their age group has been closed will not be refunded unless we replace that spot before 5 days of the tournament.

Talked to Clyde .. we lowered it to $500. He is offering an 'A' Regional berth in addition to the USA/ASA Berth. We are also checking to see if it is possible to offer college coaches a comp'd room at a local hotel if they come in on Friday and recruit Fri and Sat. Checking with NCAA to make sure it not a violation. I have heard that the Demarini Exp did this last year as well as others.

Yes, you can limit it due to field availability when a METRO is running it...

I spoke with UD's coach last weekend, they signed the SS from our 16u Hawks team for next season. Coach Cara told me she recruited her at the Metro and that it was the tourney where she determined to offer her... she said UD will be back this summer as well.
