We should know this week if we can secure additional fields locally for the 10 and 12u teams. This will allow us to expand the 16u field to 32 teams. Otherwise, we will go on the date stamp on mail which we have recorded as received.

Updated all teams and paids. We are seeking out additional fields for 10/12u games.

10u - Closed at 10 teams
12u - 22 paid teams, 24 registered. Next two teams to pay will close the division.
14u - Closed at 24 paid teams.
16u - Closed at 32 paid teams. 4 teams on wait list that had not paid.
18u - 15 paid teams, 18 registered. Next 18u team to register will be in, others will go to wait list.

Clyde Brewer and I have a meeting in the 25th with the new Dayton mayor to discuss the Metro tourney and what we need from the City/Rec Dept. She was very encouraging on the phone... and appeared very receptive to working with us.

Had a meeting with the incoming City Of Dayton Mayor, Nan Whaley yesterday. She was very receptive to our suggestions and needs for the Dayton Metro tournament. I am very hopeful that most if not all will be taken care of for this year.

Fences being the one that has the highest cost of course. We asked that they determine how many of the plastic fences the city still has that we can use. Our goal would be to get fences in place for the 9 Kettering field 16/18u diamonds.

Fences would be great as all big tournaments should have them. It really changes the game when you do not have fences. Clean potties is always nice to.

I think the best goal would to be to get fences at all of the fields. It has been talked about for years. Time to make it happen.

Fields on the main complex are nice, but I cannot stand the fields away from the complex. Poor condition and poorly maintained; not the fault of the TD or staff - it is the City of Dayton.

Doug... Our check was cashed but don't see our team listed in 12u, for tournament planning purposes are we in or on a waiting list?

What I do know from the meeting is that the city will properly prepare ALL the fields, have proper staff on hand (4-6 workers instead of 2), and have the porta potties emptied Sat and Sun morning... they are going to 'look' and see how many fences they have in good shape. Nan Whaley was very receptive to helping us.

Quick update: the city has committed to standing up their poly vinyl fences on the 4 fields in the middle, we purchased 5 fences for the 5 field complex as shown below giving us 9 fenced in fields.

These are just going into the main complex used by 16/18u? Good start. Thanks for listening to the requests. Hopefully you can get more each year.

We will purchase 5 more fences next year - goal to have them on all fields at Kettering. Next year we will be holding the 10u and 12u a week earlier - as they do not have school ball conflicts - they will be able to use the 9 lighted fields. We can also open it up to non-ohio teams - not sure we are going to do that yet - still debating. The 14u-18u will be this same weekend in June but we can handle 96 teams in those age groups. College coaches will appreciate that.
