There will be a "Meet and Eat" both Saturday and Sunday mornings for the teams at Frisch's Big Boy Restaurant located at 1283 St Rt 28 east, Loveland, Ohio 45140. This location is only 8 minutes away from Goshen and Heisler Park

FOR THE LOCAL TEAMS: This is the restaurant in what we call the Mt. Repose area between Milford and Goshen on St Rt 28 east off of I-275. The Loveland address is just a physical address.

Starts at 7 am. Love to see the teams/parents gather before the tournament and maybe stop afterwards as well.

It's time !!!! The clock is ticking and we are just a few hours away from our first game .

Last minute calls from coaches saying their girls are excited about playing this weekend. Parents calling and emailing about questions they have... the feel of softball is in the air.

Beautiful Fall weekend in sight. Should be some great games all weekend.

Hope some of the locals get out this weekend and come watch a few of these games.

Can't wait to See the teams at Frisch's Big Boy in the morning at the "Meet and Eat".

Cincy Doom won the 10u event going 3-0 and beat Huber Heights Road Warriors in the final third round championship game.

and

Ohio Ice out of Akron/Canton, Ohio area drove South to Cincinnati to win the 11u division with a perfect 3-0 record. The first game of the day for the Ice girls was a fierce 3-1 battle with the X-Treme team out of Columbus, Ohio. After sliding past their second foe, a very good Miami Valley Express team ( believe score was 4-1 not sure) the Ice girls are FOR REAL as they beat Kentucky X-plosion in the finals.

We will post the scores tomorrow after the tournament is over.

Be nice to see some of the teams before the tournament and meet up at Frisch's for breakfast. Meet and Greet from 7:00 am to 8:30 am and the ballpark is 10 minutes away for early warm-ups before the 10:00 am start time of the tournament

14i teams/parents:

If anyone happens to see this post... let the parents know when parking at Heisler Park... that when you drive in the gate go to the right and follow the lane back to the other parking lot as it will be closer to the fields you will be using today.

Yesterday was a great day and today should even be better !!!!

Sunday was a great day to play ball and the teams seemed to have a great time.

14u division had a three way tie for 1st place with Bustos Ultimates Red, Cincy Doom and Ohio Hawks all having a 2-1 record. ( This is the first time in the tournament history to ever have to decide an age division based on runs given up as the head to head deciding factor could not be used as the second tie-breaker)

14u Doom wins based on runs given up.

The 16u division saw the Heart of Ohio Explosion out of Marysville sweep the competition on Sunday giving up ZERO runs for the day.

The 18u division winners, Doom '95 play flawless ball to win the division.

Scores getting ready to be posted in that section.

Congrats to the winners and hope they enjoy the new uniforms they won !!!!!

Thank you for the nice comments.

Being we give a 1st Place prize of Uniforms valued at $600.00 dollars...financially I can't give out a 2nd Place prize.

I had coaches ask me if I was going to do this next year ( as I said it would be the last year of it )... and if the teams want it.. I don't mind having it for them.

I hope in the Fall of 2011, that I can get Frisch's Big Boy Restaurants to come onboard as a corporate sponsor... and then maybe I can give a 2nd Place prize such as "hoodies".

That would be two major prizes in a four team event.

I'm working at it for the girls. I just LOVE this tournament. I really do. IF I had one tournament all year long.. this would be the one I would do followed by the one up North where I can take the players to the Akron Racers game and feed them and the winners take home championship rings. I just LOVE this stuff personally.

This event is about playing ball and who has the stamina to get it done being they are playing three games in a row. This is especially difficult as a 10u team as you got to have pitching . Coach Matt of the Ohio Classic 10u team, after the Chillicothe event in 2008, said " You got to have pitchers to come to your event and especially with full 7 innings being played" and laughed. I laughed as well and agreed. You do have to have pitching playing three in a row. It's an opportunity for four (4) coaches to see what they have, what can be worked on in the winter ( including stamina for those Sunday other tournament games in 2011) and playing three in a row gives the coaches that opportunity.

Glad to hear everyone had a good time and the weather was great. I have been lucky the past four years on this third weekend of October when it came to weather ... ** knocking on wood ** just frost a couple times on one day or the other.. but it went away by 10 am game time. So, weather wise.. it has been good weather every year for the girls.
