5th Annual Lightning Invitational May 20-22, 2016

The 5th Annual Lightning Invitational will take place May 20-22, 2016 in Green and North Canton, OH. This will be for ages 10U, 12U, and 14U. 4GG (weather permitting). Cost for the tournament is $375.
Last year we had 55 teams play in a very competitive tournament across all age groups. This is an open roster tournament. ASA rules will apply.

Ohio Stampede Eberhardt would like to thank the entire Lightning organization for working your tails off to get the fields ready by Sunday after the all day rain Saturday!!

We went 5-1 on the weekend and we're eventual tournament runner ups losing to tournament champion Wolfpack Dudek! Very very solid team top to bottom. They put it on us early but as our girls did all weekend they never gave up and made a little run towards the end. So proud of our girls and there never quit attitude.

Shout out to the Impact 02 team that we played in the semifinals. This is a very well coached team that smacks the ball all over the park. Always a fun game between our two clubs!

Lastly congratulations to the W.W.A.S.T. who lost a tough fought game with Wolfpack Dudek in there semifinal game. What a great group of players and coach's doing things the right way and supporting a phenomenal cause! If not for our armed forces we would not be able to enjoy the everyday things that we love to do and take for granted at times! I speak for the whole Stampede organization and the entire softball world when I say THANK YOU Tom and the W.W.A.S.T. Good luck to your girls as they now go there separate ways and join there other softball families.

Hats off to the Lightning organization for a well run tourney despite Mother nature's cruel jokes! There was a lot of hard work put into Sunday!

I normally don't post negatives here, however I do have to mention that the umpire crew on the Green HS fields were a couple of the worst I've seen in calling balls and strikes in awhile. One ump more than the other. I rarely feel the balls and strikes could make or break games, however in this case, I can say I honestly do. It's one thing to squeeze the zone and teach pitchers to adjust, but when you turn it into a slugfest and frustrate BOTH teams, it's not productive or fun for anyone.
