ASPIRE HIGHER SOFTBALL TRAINING CLINICS IN DECEMBER
December 3rd Defensive Clinic at AB Pitching
December 4th Win the Mind Game Mental Training at Mannino’s Grand Slam
December 4th Advanced Slapping at Mannino’s Grand Slam
DEFENSIVE CLINIC, SATURDAY, DECEMBER 3RD 1:00 TO 3:00 P.M. AT AB PITCHING
For 8U to 12U athletes with retired college coaches Sheilah Gulas and Karen Linder, two of winningest coaches in Ohio history along with Erika Warren and Jodi Albertson.
Location: AB Pitching and Fitness, 2420 Wedgewood Dr, Akron, Ohio 44312
Instruction includes: Defensive fundamentals including footwork, throwing, fielding, and position work including catching. It will not include pitching mechanics.
COST: $50 if you register prior to November 28th, $60 after November 28th. WIN THE MIND GAME MENTAL TRAINING, DECEMBER 4TH 9:30 TO NOON AT MANNINO’S GRAND SLAM WITH KAREN LINDER
For 14U to 18U athletes who want to learn training strategies to help develop focus, confidence, and consistency.
MENTAL TRAINING TOPICS, TECHNIQUES, AND ACTIVITIES FOR THIS CLASS INCLUDE:
· Keys to successful performance
· Understanding the mind body connection
· How emotional states impact performance
· Controlling self-talk
· Use of relaxation techniques to improve focus and confidence
· Use of mental routines to help you play one pitch at a time
· Visualization to train your subconscious mind
· Applying these techniques to hitting to help develop a more confident mindset
HITTING FOCUS
· Understanding mental approach for an at bat, and establishing a hitting and refocus routine to keep you clear, calm, and confident.
· Using the above strategies in hitting

ADVANCED LEFTY SLAPPING CLINIC, SUNDAY DECEMBER 4TH AT MANNINO’S GRAND SLAM 1:30 TO 3:30 P.M.
For 14U to 18U athletes who have been slapping for 3 years or more.
INSTRUCTION:
Clinic is for athletes who are already able to execute drag, soft slap, and hard slap from the left side. The focus will be on refining touch and placement for each and we will incorporate mental approach in determining which strategy to use in games.

INSTRUCTORS: Karen Linder and Dani Ramos
Dani Ramos is a Kent State University alumni having played from 2011 to 2015 as a lefty slapper and being an NFCA Academic Award Winner. Currently, she is a Grand Slam instructor and assistant coach at Worthington Christian High School and has coached travel ball after graduating from college.
PROFILE FOR KAREN LINDER
Retired college coach of 33 years, Karen Linder is 4 - time MAC Coach of the Year with over 800 career victories and 12 championship titles. She is proven in developing championship performers, having coached 11 Academic All Americans, 6 All Americans, 5 professional athletes, 82 All Conference players, over 200 scholar athletes at the NCAA I, II and NAIA levels, and 9 Hall of Fame athletes. Most recently she coached the USA 12U Ohio/WV Team in the USA All American Games in OKC from 2016 to 2021 and currently is on the NFCA Executive Board of Directors.
