Thank you Merlion.
I always thought, when it came to bowl games, BT schools were invited because they brought a lot of fans with a lot of money. In softball, it seems like the BT is a mid-major playing level, despite the great facilities nearly all the conference schools have. After watching the SEC play, I can't image why a girl in the Midwest, if she has the opportunity, wouldn't want to play down there with game atmosphere and the stadiums. It looks like a lot of fun.

Philbob - when you get into the recruiting process, you'll have a clearer picture of why kids make their school/program choices. You have to look at the whole picture, including total scholarship $$, distance from home, course of study... and tons more. There are many, many schools in the warm climes of the south that would accept many Ohio kids - but even that warm weather isn't all that important when all things are considered. Consider some of those Cali kids in Michigan who have never seen the mercury dip below 50 degrees...

Rowlands graduated from Bishop Ready HS. Her sister, Meghan played softball @ OSU and now coaches Hartley HS softball. They also have a brother, Tommy Rowlands, that wrestled @ OSU and was a 2X NCAA champion at HWT.

quite a talented family to say the least.

Yes, that's true Sammy. I always thought that the excellent academics being what they are at BT schools, the question for Cali girls would come down to playing time and their fit with the program. Although for some, like Sam Marder, it was also a question of emotional attachment due to family history as well.
