Binks, I don't actually coach that team. ?I haven't actually been a Stingrays Coach since the end of the 2004 summer. ?After tryouts in August 2004 I moved to Chicago and have since moved to Kansas (where I am coaching a Junior College team now). Ron "RC" Cottrell is the head coach, but he is out of town this weekend, so Denny Martin, Terry Shirk, and Lori Fullen are heading things up for them in Pickerington. ?They are very happy with the team, and I am sure they will have a lot of success with this exceptional group.

Who was in the 14u finals? And who won?

Have'nt been able to confirm it yet, but I heard that the Laser's Green beat the Stingrays (Toler) in the finals. Nothing firm though. Just my DD talking to another friend's DD.

I think it was the MV Express that beat the Stingrays.

Yeah, it was the MV Express and Stingrays in the 14-U final.

Indy Diamond Chix beat the Buckeye Heat 3-1 in the 16-U final.

At the 12U site, I would like to thank all the teams and parents for a great weekend. Very impressive teams in this age group.

I thought the umpiring was extremely good and I believe we only had 1 complaint the entire weekend. It was corrected and cudo's go out to the umpires.

Overall, excellent competition. It came down to coach Pearson from Miami valley Express and Coach Seeds from Stingrays. Excellent game in the final with Stingrays pulling off a 2-1 win. Both teams played extremley well.

Being from the Picktown area, I am sorry I missed most of this tournament. I enjoy watching these games, especially all of the Classic tournament. I was out of town until Saturday evening, but I was able to stopped by before church this morning to watch some of the early games. I was watching the 16U game when I hear a lot of cheering around the corner so I went to watch the Stingray and Buckeye Heat for a while. I had to leave to go to church, but when I left the Buckeye Heat was winning by I think 7-1. What was the final of that game? The Heat team was giving a lesson on small ball and they had a very nice pitcher throwing for them. They looked really good. That was a fun game to watch and I hated to leave (I ended up being a little late for church). :

Congrats to the new Doom 10U for their first of many victories to come beating the Stingrays 10U in international tie breaker. those little girls played very hard and the coaches worked very hard also. again congrats

Armi what are you saying? Did one of the umpires go yard against the Doom? lol As I was a neutral spectator all I saw was 2 solid teams battling eachother. Maybe your new to fastpitch and can't accept defeat? Anyway there was definatly some great ball being played at Pickerington Central. The Indiana Diamond Chix and Buckeye Heat was a great game to watch, I think it ended as a 3-1 win for Indy for the 16U Championship.
