College Scholarships: who is headed where in the class of 2010?

I saw this thread on a different sports websight and thought I would re-post it hear on OFC. Around 20 players were listed as going D-I in the 2010 class. Is this considered a typical year for recruiting in Ohio? Does anyone have a master list of all players that have verbaled or will sign from the 2010 class in the next couple of weeks?

I cut/paste the names from the other thread below and then sorted them by college committed to. I apologize if I missed any (there were some 2009s thrown in that confused things).

I count 37 commitments, and 32 are to DI schools. 7 travel organizations contributed more than 1 athlete to the list. Pretty impressive ... it would be interesting to see how this stacks up with prior years.

Middle Tennessee State / Jordyn Fisherback / Nightmare / Greenville HS

Jordyn and her family would like to thank all of the girls and coaches she has played with over the years. She has met a lot of quality people and has quite a few friends from all over the state. There are way to many girls to list but I do want to recognize the coaches she has played for.

Jack Sheppard: DC Lightning
Scott Urton, Jeff Locker, and John Daniels: OFC Heat (Orange)
Joe and John Abbruzzese: Nightmare
Mike and Willard Fisherback: Tri - Village High School
Jerrod Newland: Greenville High School

She is very thankful that she has had an opportunity to play with so many quality players and coaches.

Good luck to all the girls who will be playing at the next level.

I am curious are there any girls from the Cincinnati or south East Indiana committed to any colleges. I see all from northern ohio.

8 of these athletes are from central Ohio, not northern Ohio. I'm not sure about where all the schools are located, but at least 3 or 4 of them are from southwest Ohio.

riots4,

Very nice job organizing the 2010 class for us! There are so many high profile & skilled softball players on this list, who have worked very hard to get to the next level. I've said it for about 3 years now, the 2010 class is the deepest class that has ever come out of Ohio....JMHO. Congrats to all the young ladies on this list, including your DD, you all deserve everything you've earned so far! :)

Do colleges usually sign alot of players this month? When is the "quiet" period? I think is coming up. Had some schools emailing ALOT with such interest now nothing, no responses.

Vinali, the early signing period is for a week in the middle of November. All the above are just verballed at this time.

I have upated the initial list above adding 2 more commits. I think the number of D1s is near 30. Again, I don't know how this compares to prior years, but it does sound impressive as a class.

I will continue to keep list updated if you reply here or send me a PM.

National signing week is next week, which includes a NCAA dead period from 8:00am Nov 9th thru 8:00am Nov 13th. Better get your emails, phone calls and last minute visits in before this dead period starts. :)

Thanks Guys, It has been great with the softball families. It's always a great weekend when we catch up with at tournaments, near and far. She decided to a small school was the way she wanted to go, education, campus then softball. They think she'll be able to contribute right away and that's what she wanted. The friends she has made like Brit, Cody, Kim, Lauren, Stacey, Tori, and so on and so on will always be part of that family. Families like the Duncan's, Collier's,Pyle's, Abbruzze's, Jackson's, Englemanns, Lunsford's, Urton's and so on and so on have made these years fun. Coaches like Jack, Cliff, Henri, Dave Brittingham, Scott and so on have made her into the player she is today. The Campbell's Thank each and everyone for your friendships and hard work. We will miss this next year, but look forward to her last high school season and last year of full travel ball. Gary, Anita, Bethany.
