Doug:

Just to confirm, no games on Friday - right?

And because this is a NQ is it a blind draw into the pools.

Correct ... yes, we are using trny scheduling software to randomly assign pool positions - we met with the Dayton METRO commish last night and got it all taken care of with him present.. just need to get all the info into pdf files, assign diamonds and publish...

PP - 1:20 no new in, then ITB if needed
Bracket - DBL-Elim - no time limit.

Thanks.

Maybe Intensity will jump in, hey TT you guys able to do this one now that Doom 95 dropped out? How about checking with Wiley's Stingrays as they are goaling for ASA/USA as well and hopefully we all can meet in Molline for a beer!

We will be posting a link here ... to the schedule shortly... right now we are waiting to see if 1 more 14u can jump in - as well as 1 more 10u ...

Please spread the word that we are looking for 1 more team at the 10u and 14u age group.

Got it - Thanks - Hope you can make it...

UPDATE: We got an email from the Indiana JO - some teams there did not realize that this was open to them .. they are going to pass the word and try and get a few Indy teams in...

We are going to give them until Monday at noon to get in ... We will publish the entire schedule on Monday evening ...

Thanks for the patience - we are trying to allow all the teams we can to participate.

On another note: We are checking on required ACE Certs for all dugout personnel - this ASA requirement is for Nationals, I would suggest all teams make sure your coaches are covered by having their 2010 ACE certs in place for this tourney.

Lastly - the park does have a gate fee of $4/adult (16yrs and older) per day. Sorry for any confusion on this.

If I can help anyone with approx start times please call me at 513 571 1180 ... we appreciate the understanding and want to help out of towners as much as possible... we are planning on 9am start times, the diamonds are lighted and will 'may' go into the 9pm time frame or so.

Clarification on ACE: All head coaches/Managers must have a 2010 ACE certification card or proof of completion. All adults in the dugout must have proof of a current (within the year) background check (passed of course!)

Doug: Are you serious? We are just hearing about this now? Who made this decision?

Its one thing to require it in August at a National Tournament its another to ask for it at a qualifier. I haven't heard of this requirement for any of the other national qualifying opportunities like ASA States and Region 9.

Is there even a guarantee that the background checks will be back in time for the tourney?

I am starting to feel like the guys running NSA have made their way into ASA.

I apologize ... we just found out this morning about it. If they have their ACE from 2009, the background check is good for year and they will be fine...

I called in and the ASA folks are talking it over ..with all the web site problems they had - I asked them to reconsider it for this tourney.

Stay tuned!

I had mine from last year and no one even ask to see it.

I no longer have it and every time I try to log on there is a problem.

I guess we wont be playing if I need it.

Doug, have you heard anything more about this? It doesn't look like our Assistant Coaches (including me) will have time to get the background checks. If the Assistants don't sit in the dugout during the game, can they still perform publicly viewed coaching responsibilities? I'm thinking that I would sit in the stands while the team is on defense and coach first base when we are on offense. I know that might sound a little ridiculous, but it's also ridiculous that we were given such short notice on the background checks and that I still can't figure out how to order a background check through the ASA web site.

BTW, we have calls in to Warren Jones, but I'm sure he is swamped with Commissioner duties right now.

I thought that when a team registers with AA, the coaches that are submitted on the roster get a background check.

Right or wrong?
