Just my opinion, slide was hard to break up potential double play. Didnt look like an attempt to injure. First catchers elbow, if you pause it at the right time actually looks as if the runner was initiating contact and the catcher reacted. The runner appears to have both arms in front of her as she nears contact. Second catchers elbow appears obviously flagrant. My guess would be these teams have some history.

Exact same thing I thought when I saw that! Kendrick Perkins hard foul on Jae Crowder looks really bad... that is until you see replays first of Jae shoving JR Smith (before he got slapped), Jae running his mouth to the Cavs players and K. Love getting his arm ripped out of the socket. Maybe in the other 120+ minutes of the game that YouTube video doesn't show there is something happening that puts the catcher's actions in a little more context. True, she probably should have been tossed for that second play, however, I wouldn't assume too much unless I saw the entire game and maybe some of their previous games.

I saw the exact same thing when I watched it.

On a side note I saw many more good swings in that vid than watching several innings of a recent ohio state championship game. Girls could swing it .

I am all for playing hard but this is dirty play. Back when DD was in HS I doubt the teams she was on would have shown the restraint these ladies did.
I wonder if there was post game hand shake?

Same question goes to Alabama. The girl #2 that slide into the catcher is going to Alabama. Interesting point that both of these girls play for the same travel team.

The catcher clearly threw her elbow back and just blew up those runners and she didn't even stagger. That by itself was pretty impressive. That the catcher could get away with it twice was amazing.

What rule would be violated here that the umpire could enforce?
