Field of Dreams in Lancaster is offering clinics by our instructors for all facets of the game; hitting, fielding, catching, & pitching. Led by some of the best instructors in Central Ohio, these clinics are designed for both the younger and the more experienced players.
Jenny Young, Shawn Gillenwater, Chris Zaker, & Aaron Alvelo are the instructors who will teach these clinics.
This Saturday we are presenting:
Infielder's Clinic 12:00-1:30. Only $30 for 90 minutes of focused Infielder techniques with primary focus paid to the techniques required to be a solid middle infielder including footwork, maneuvering around the bases, handling double plays and smooth infield glove work. This clinic has been offered in the fall and Winter since we opened and is always a great learning opportunity for those players who specialize as a middle infielder.
Catching Clinics: Beginner 4:00-6:00, Advanced from 6:30-8:30. Only $35 for either these two hour catching clinics*. Taught by Field of Dreams owner and catching instructor Chris Zaker, these clinics will help your young catcher understand and learn various techniques needed to excel at this position. Chris spends a great deal of time on footwork, body positioning, balance and the proper order of hand and feet movements for the most efficient use of throwing power for the young catchers. Zaker has given hundreds of lessons to students ranging in age from 7 year old beginners to 19 year old current college catchers and all ages in between. His goal is to make Fairfield County "Catcher County" by helping to improve all local catchers with their game.
*Any catcher who signs up for the advanced catching clinic is also encourage to sign up for the beginner's clinic as well. A discount will be given, and this is suggested in order to ensure a solid understanding of the basic techniques. The basics will only be quickly reviewed at the beginning of the advanced clinic as it is understood that the advanced catchers should already have these basics learned. Field of Dreams Advanced Catching Skills Class-begins Sat Oct 29th and runs 4 consecutive weeks. For maximum student/instructor ratio, only 8 students will be accepted for this. Each week?s class be 90 minutes and will take place Saturday mornings. Exact time TBD. $75 registration fee for entire 4-week (6 hours) class.
"Learning the Correct Basics? Softball Pitching Clinic-taught by Aaron Alvelo in November. Basic pitching clinics focused on mechanics and fundamentals and is intended primarily for 10U/12U pitchers. The clinic will be 90 minutes and cost $30. Must provide own catcher for this clinic.
?Becoming an Elite Level Pitcher? Softball Pitching Clinic-taught by Aaron Alvelo (coach and father of one of the best pitchers to ever come out of Ohio). This clinic will focus on advanced spin development for creating fantastic movement pitches, increasing pitch velocity and will provide high level mental conditioning. This clinic is only for 14/16 & 18U pitchers-those pitchers who truly desire to be elite level athletes and are seriously willing to put in the work to get there. You will learn some of the secrets that collegiate level pitchers know, how they train and how they think. Elite-Level Pitching clinic will include 90 minutes of pitching work and development, followed by a 30 minute ?Developing a Focused Elite Pitcher?s Mind? seminar to teach the athletes how to think at an elite level. Registration fee is $50. Must provide catcher for this clinic.
Basic Slapping Techniques-taught by local slapping instructor Mark Redfern. This clinic is presented primarily for the younger players or for older athletes who are new to slapping. Proper footwork, balance, timing, barrel control and the thought process of the slapper will be explained and learned through a progression of drills. This clinic will run for 90 minutes and only cost $20 per person. Date & time TBD.
