My complaint is gate fees and one ump!! I don't mind paying little extra but when the games have one ump per game it affirms it's all about the money.

Joeboo, thank you for the detailed information and once the restaurant is completed along with some of the other upgrades VSP will be one of the best larger parks in northern Ohio. Like I said I'm not familiar with the interworking of the complex and it sounds as if it is on the right track. VSP does have a lot of great things going for it, hopefully my comments weren't taken the wrong way. We've been to a lot of great parks and some have gate fees and others don't but don't allow food/drinks, etc. and VSP was one of the ones that had both stipulations so that's why I even commented. I read that you commented that half of the vendors won't be coming back due to lack of sales and I think Panera Bread, Chipotle, Subway, etc. within a couple of miles from the park is probably the reasoning behind that. Most parents of softball players don't want their daughters eating vendor food at those prices (meaning $6 sausage sandwich compared to a $5 sub at subway) so one recommendation I would have for the restaurant is to provide affordable "somewhat" healthy food and you should do a lot of business at the park. Families are more likely to eat at the park if there was an affordable option that was "somewhat" healthy. Even if families could bring in coolers most parents pack it with fruit, snacks, water, and Gatorade but if they want to eat a good meal the restaurant is a great option. Wish you best of luck!

Joeboo3432, I have been coming to the park for years and will say I was very disappointed when it originally changed hands. I can see the improvements that have been made to the park over the past few years, but like any park, more can be added. Firstly I would get the building completed so you have a central point for concessions, restrooms, and a cold "beverage". The perception of this shell in your park gives the impression that no money is going back into the facility. I would also find a way to add some shade as you have very few trees. Perhaps canopy's over the bleachers, a few pavilions, etc....in fact, the building when completed will offer some relief from the sun as well. Finally, the new softball facility going up front will be a big boost to the park.

Smalls- thanks for the input. Im not sure when you were at the park last? We got it under roof 3 years ago, addedlandscaping out front, added both sets of outside staircases, put in the windows, some of the urilities, cemented the main restaurant area and painted the indiir ceiling and have been using it as a pavilion the last 2. In fact we were showing christmas movies from 10am-8pm on Saturdayduring the Christmas in July Tourney. As for shade, we niw have a 40x60 tent at the front if the park as well for people to eat, cool off etc.

Dawgpound- no worries. As for the food, i will post a link for some of the trucks that were here. They are some of the top "restaurants on wheels" in Cleveland including Manna, Krave, Burrito Loco, and The Bagel Shop just to name a few. Also Victory Grille (operated by Aces) has specifically offered wraps, pasta salad, fruit cups, etc at several of the tourneys to cater specifically to the kids at times.

fastball19, you need to get a clue before you make a statement.

OK FIRST of all, I was the one that talked to him directly so you need to get a clue. The beer sales were removed because of teams saying they would not be back because of the problems it created. Thus, the gate fee was increased. Those were the words right out of Tony's mouth. Do I need to run a gopro on everything to justify what I am saying?

If you don't want to pay gate fees then play rec. Otherwise just expect them and be pleasantly surprised when you don't have to pay them.

And take your own beer it's cheaper.

Fastball19- don't let drd rile you up.......and as I mentioned earlier, either you misunderstood or he (Tony) misspoke. Either way your statement is incorrect. No gate fees have been increased because a vendor was not allowed to sell beer. As for sales of beer during a tournament, there have been no problems that I am aware of...... and with Aces across the street and Lonetree around the corner and people bringing in their own beverages......it would be hard to pinpoint that if there WAS an issue it was because of a vendor serving beer at one of our events. Recently one TD mentioned that he would prefer no beer sales during his event next year and we intend to comply......with no gate fee increase : )

Oh yea I wouldn't let that happen! Yes, maybe Tony misunderstood why they went up but I was simply stating what was stated last year at the Wildcat Pride tournament....I believe. Other than that, I like the changes so far that have taken place. Would be great to have the whole place asphalted!
