Doug and the rest of the Hawks that hosted the event....Magic 11U had a great time at the Friendlies event today. I appreciate the effort it took to put this together! Looking forward to the Hawktober tournament in a couple of weeks, hopefully the weather will be just as nice as it was today!

John - I heard Steph had a nice shot to the fence for an HR... very cool. I watched her throw yesterday ... she is going to have a great season next year, she has good stuff and will only get better over the winter.

Our Fall Friendlies - UPDATED - 9/24 - 10 pm

We are looking for 6-8 teams each day - that want to play 3 games each day at 1:20 each, no new inning. That keeps us on a 90 min game schedule.

Cost is $30/game to cover balls, field cost and umpires. Fields will be lined and prepared (they are great fields) and there will be a single ASA umpire at each field. No parking or gate fee.

We will follow the same format we did last spring - all teams then had a great time and it was a great afternoon of softball. We will run some concessions - teams will get a break between some games to eat and rest, but may play back-back games at least once.

Doug - She sure did hit her first home run. Now to work on getting one "over the fence". Chris caught it, and the whole game, on video. Definitely cool stuff.

I actually didn't think it was one of her better games pitching, but nevertheless it was good to get out and play some ball yesterday. These friendlies are a great idea, and I think everybody that was out there yesterday had a real good time.

Scores? what happens in the Friendly - stays in the Friendly .. lol. Doom 95 and Hawks 94 had a couple good games - 3-1 and a tie I think.

Hawks 95 played Cincy Elite 18u a couple and split them.

OFC team looked very good, nice hitters - solid team, Hawks 96 Herman looked pretty good for their first time out going 2-1 .. did not get to see the Static 96 team play any.

Hawks 97 Hoff looked good- they too are finding themselves after some recent player additions. Steph and Ashley will be a very good combo of pitchers for them this season.

Hawks 97-Hoff went 2-1. We played well for the first time out. Several things to work on. The best thing about these friendlies is playing girls all over the diamond so you can see what they can do. I think each of my players played at least 3 different positions during the course of the day. It was good to see them perform and fight for their starting position come tourny time.
OFC96 has a very nice team. Good hitters, aggressive, and good pitching to boot. A team to look out for come spring and summer. Nice job OFC96!
