How many balls would you expect a 10U player to have hit to them during practice a quality fielding practice?

/\/\/\/\times a Billion...then you let them grow for two years...then you'd be getting closer.

Seriously, IMHO it depends on the player. But, it also depends on how much your team practices, how much experience the players have, individual player's athleticism and the team's goals. It's a hard question to answer. But, I'm sure I wanted to know when my dd was 10u, too. I thought many times, "when does this become fluid, like when I played?" It happens with time and practice. It also makes you appreciate how much time really good older players (and their parents/supporters) have put in to get to that point.

My kid learned how her feet were supposed to move and then she marked her footwork off with blue painter's tape on the floor of her bedroom. 2 sets across coming, 2 sets across going.

Anytime she walked in or out of her room she had to use them. Her "rule."

I s'pose it worked..
