I was reading about a groups of 12 under softball parents trying to decide what a fair compensation package and what type of reimbursement they would make when hiring a Head Coach.

Here was the package they put together and was wonder what others thought about it.

    Salary $500 a month
Travel expenses 25 cents a mile
    Motel reimbursement 100%
Meals $25 a day when at tournaments

What do you think? I personally think Non Parent Head Coaches should get reimbursed for certain expenses if they want them. I think anything they they would get is very much appreciated! Whatever they get they for sure earn.

Well, if its Candrea or Murphy, youll need to put out a little bit more. A good knowlegable non parent coach with a track record of success i would say road hotels paid for. You get into something totally different when its a parent coach with a kid on the team.

Non parent coaches should be reimbursed for their weekend hotels and meals. Most will not even accept that. These non parent coaches have a calling to continue to coach. That is why they continue to do so.

I just read a facebook post that I had posted the same question. One organization Leader said he pays his Coaches $300.00 on tournament weekend, plus motel expenses and food. Just so your aware they have no parent coaches and most his coaches are x college players or x pros Softball players and he even has one x pro MLB Player as a Coach.

Lol, is that why umps do it for free also, oh wait.... :)

All kidding aside, coaching for free is a very expensive proposition for coaches. There are many good coaches that can't just do it for free, not everyone can. God bless the ones that can and do. But, if compensation brings back coaches that would otherwise not be able to, then I don't see an issue with it. There would be increased scrutiny of course, but we get that now anyway, so why not get paid and atleast not lose money. Most coaches would end up putting par
    Wow, what org is that??
