Great point. I do agree about the school pride thing. DD is the 4th generation of our family at the school. There is definitely school pride. Just hate to hear the TB bashing. If it weren't for TB I don't know if she would have the opportunities that she has had to play in front ofd,so many coaches. The friends she has made is another benefit. But the biggest benefit of all has been staying busy and out of trouble while setting goals and learning about failure and success. We will always have HS and TB and both serve important, although different, purposes.

The author wrote "Travel ball has taken that equation out of the picture. In today's world, kids are not looking for the best team per se. They are looking for what the team can do for them, as opposed to vice versa.." Isn't that sort of what Karen Linder was sort of saying? Many players today have a sense of entitlement and instead of just doing what the coach says to do, they need 3 reasons as to why?!
