iPad app...stats program?

I used it for a 2 game stretch this weekend. For a total of about 3 hours and was just below 78% battery life left. I did turn off the screen between innings to see if that would help as well. I was luck enough to see an external power supply available on 1saleaday.com a few weeks back. I imagine that will give me a few added hours of power. You should be able to charge it in your car when you have a break with a car adapter as well.

Thanks. I may get the additional power supply because the Ipad charges pretty slow and there's nothing like good insurance. I'd rather not have to deal with battery "drama" during a game.

Don't know if you have seen that it charges faster using the power adapter that came with it. I had others I used with my itouch and iphone, but they charged a lot slower. Not exactly sure why it would matter though.

I have been using the Ipad and Iscore for about 6 weeks now and used it live for about 8 games. I really like it. Being able to email updated stats immediately after the game is great and the hitting charts and pitching stats are very nice.

I haven't had any issue with battery life or sunshine or warm temps yet, but most of our season here is played with winter coats on, so I don't expect to find out. Battery life seems good enough for at least 4 games, probably just takes some discipline to not waste the battery on Angry Birds in between games. :)

That is funny. Minnesota huh. I am sure you get some warm days.

Viewed this one in New Jersey this past weekend at coaches clinic, it kinda blew me away.

Families can follow your teams while your out of town via internet.

Free app for your ipod, or ipad. Working on droid now.

That is what we use. The parents and grandparents love it. You can also send them messages while they are watching.

Have no experience with Iscore, but the game changer is great.

Is it hard for whoever uses it, to keep on pace with the game? I just e-mailed my parents asking them if anyone has an ipad. Definitely looked sweet at convention.

Just wondering, has anyone done a side by side comparison of these two programs? Would like to know if they have a preference?

I also downloaded gamechanger onto iPad. It really looks awesome. Have played around with it and it seems pretty straight forward. Can even track what pitches are thrown if your close to coach calling pitches. Gonna practice during school ball so i'm ready for summer. A wi-fi connection is needed for the streaming updates. Parents seemed very excited also.

Our scorekeeper first used it during a game and caught on right away and messed with it between innings to learn the nuances. He said it was great and easy to use. (GameChanger).

Have not seen the two programs together to compare. Not endorsing either one. Just explaining our experience. I have heard the same about Iscore too. Also read that GameChanger and Iscore will be releasing an Android version soon.

I downloaded the Gamechanger app. It appears it is dependent on wifi. I also did not see the pitch location chart, that I see on the iScore. I am sure there is more, but that was an initial look. Can someone who uses Gamechanger let me know if I missed that.

Droid x (and I'm sure others) can create a wifi hotspot for 5 devices for $10/month. I dont know how that compares to the 3g cost for the ipad. We are turning into the Jetsons!

You only need wifi to download the games to the website. If you don't have wifi at the field it will download the info as soon as you hit a wifi spot. The wifi allows you to live stream the game. The pitch chart can be changed in settings section on the website if I remember correctly.

Thanks I will look at that.

We used the game changer for the first time this past weekend, and it took our user a little bit of time to get use to it, but after he did, he really liked it. I know as a coach as soon as I got to the hotel room, I could evaluate how the girls did right away, plus the parents could stop by and check things out as well.

Gamechanger.io is AWESOME!!! I spent a couple hours just reviewing stats and charts from this past weekend at Sportzone. Love the pitching stats, I had to sit down with my pitcher DD and figure out why she was throwing so many pitches after 1-2 counts!! She loved the extra critique sessions we had and looks forward to more this spring and summer!

so, does anyone use the iPad for stats and only the iPad, no paper?

I was thinking about it. I might try both for the beginning. I have just heard too many things about the overheating issue. If it weren't for that I would not even think about the paper book.

I'm seriously considering getting one, but as far as scorekeeping... I'm an IT guy and i have visions of *poof* right in the middle of a game

And if anyone knows where I can find and iPad 2 - 32G Wi-Fi model in stock let me know! :)
