Why would you want the iPad 2? Just curious. The camera apparently is grainy. I do like the magnetic cover, but not $70 like. Just curious. I am also an IT guy, which is the reason I hate pencil.

Biggest reason to go ahead and spring the extra money for me is the processor, twice as fast. Yeah, camera specs are less than impressive, but at least it is there. I won't be doing photography with it but nice to take a pic i guess. Like the smart cover option as well. I just figure if I'm gonna spend the $ might as well get the latest and greatest, sure i could save a few 100 by getting a first generation, but then I'd also have iPad 2 envy. ;)

So I did get an iPad 2. Love it! Just dloaded game changer. So same question as someone had about iscore, how do u handle tournaments? Set them up as leagues? Makes it appear as a new team each time though it seems.

iScore for ipad is awesome!

....and I have this same app for my droid. I'm still learning it, but I love it. iScore also has a very active community forum where problems and ideas are shared. The iScore staff use that forum to announce changes and improve their product.

http://iscoreforum.com/

That's where I went to learn a little more about the product before I spent all $9.99 on it.

Everybody's doing it Doug.... c'mon... your parents won't find out. :lmao:

I'm really anxious to see how it goes using one of the stats programs and attempting to get rid of the paper book. I'm sure I'll always need the book nearby and will use it as a backup for a while. So looking forward to not spending hours after a tournament deciphering what happened and compiling stats.

I am typing this on my iPad and I love it! I didn't go for the iPad2, as I have iPhone 4 if I have the need for FaceTime. I also love the iPad2's fancy cover, but not for the extra cost of the device plus the $70 for the cover.

I no longer use pencil, only Gamechanger and have been really pleased. I think i will also purchase the external power for travel season. After reading posts here, I am a bit concerned about the heat. May have to split games between the iPhone and the iPad...

I'm just as concerned about the dirt and dust - We all know how that goes..I may just use it to transfer the paper book into - Give us a cleaner version to digest.

I posted this question on the GameChanger forum..... here is the response.

QUESTION
My team is a travel team that plays in tournaments all season rather than a league. I want to be able to have tournaments setup with individual games and be able to see game, tournament AND season stats. Can this be done?

RESPONSE
We do not currently have a filter for this if your games are all going to be listed as the same game type. However, a common work-around is to edit a selection of your games and make them a unique Game Type (i.e. exhibition) and then filter your stats to just show exhibition games. You may print the stat screens then return those games to their previous game type. You can do this repeatedly for any selection of games. I understand that this is quite inconvenient. I assure you that a stat filter will be included in a future update to the website.

This isn't the end of the world I guess, but I definitely will try iScore out now.

You'll have plenty of time to play with it...hopefully you're in business class.

No class here...

The unit is called a "New Trent". Purchased via Amazon. Comes with most of the phone or USB charging port adaptors. Very nice. Lasted forever and still haven't charged it back up. It has the footprint of a wallet and as thick as Doug's wallet.... C'mon Doug....pull the trigger on the Ipad2!!

Still in mother China trying to get a wireless signal stronger than a 14.4 modem :D:mad: but OFC works and isn't blocked by "them"...

And this battery backup is 11,000maH. The latest version so look for that on Amazon for about $80. I had it in 3 days with standard shipping.

Lester:

I have an iTouch and an iPad. I used an app called K-force by Pointstreak last year on the iTouch. It's like doing the book but on the phone and it keeps all kinds of stats automatically. There's a free version and a paid version ($10). The paid version offers more reports and keeps stats through the entire season. The free version doesn't. It's a slick program.

Good luck.

I second K-Force. Last year I tried the ESPN app for Ipad, and it just isn't user friendly. So far the K-Force has been easy to get up to speed and it does keep great stats.

The downside to the Ipad is the sun. It makes it difficult to see and it overheats easy.

Thanks. I will download it and check it out.

For the Ipad/Iscore you just need to use the league function to seperate out whatever stats you want, its a little cumbersome but doable once you understand how it works

Every game is listed as "Default" league. For a typical season you might have pre-season, Regular season, post season and within that, conference play, tournament play. Just create leagues with those names (and any other seperations you want) and then go to each game and assign the games to all leagues that apply and you can assign games to multiple leagues (i.e. Regular season and conference, or Regular season and tournament) etc. You can assign games before or after the fact and change what leagues they are in at any time. To look at all cumalative team stats go into League Manager and make sure all Leagues are checked then run team stats. To (for example) remove pre-season games from team stats, uncheck the preseason league (and probably the default league unless you took default off each individual game) then go back and run team stats. To look at just post season, uncheck everything but postseason and then go back and run team stats. You can always go to League Manager and recheck all leagues to active, your not deleting games, just telling it which games to filter out/in.

Following up on what Snocatzdad stated. If you forget to change the league for any game you can go in and change it retoactively.

Here's my iScore update - -

I just opened up a web page and iScore put my stats on it - and it was so easy it was astounding. The web page is simple to use - additional cost of $20 over the $9.99 for iScore.

I use iScore on my Droid, and I can certainly tell sunshine is going to be a problem.

Beyond that, I am really happy I stuck with iScore's program; I'm getting the hang of it after watching the tutorials. I'll fight the light to not have to transcribe the paper book into stats!!!!!

Another neat feature - people can actually follow the game on-line while I'm scoring it too.

Nice app.
