We should have quit after our 1st game. We threw a couple stinkers out there after playing pretty decent against Laser Gold. Lost 4-0 to Indy Dreams (nothing to hang our heads about ) but we played with ZERO energy or emotion.

got beat 1-0 in the 5pm game . again no intensity or fire. Our pitcher (same one that threw against Laser Gold ) has 20'Ks. But no O to back it up. I watched my kid walk to her position . We had a small chat on the way home.

I thing one thing I learned today -- Girls are maddening. They want to play-- they play --they want to go thru the motions and waste their parents time--thats just what they do. age or talent level doesn't matter . could be 10's or 18u's . MD

anyone got more scores ? doom 95 1-2 on the day. Lasers 94 went 3-0 I think. in the 16u OC outrage went 3-0. Doom96 went 1-2 in 16u play.

18U Doom also went 1-2 with a win over OFC Heat & losses to 18U Laser Gold & Lasers 94. Tomorrow is a new day tho!

Nobody in the south ( 12u or 14u ) wanted to play. But I was impressed with the field conditions. A little "damp" this morning , but only got better as the day went on. The field crews were already prepping the fields for tomorrow as we left after the 5 pm game.

Kudos to Marie (nice to meet you by the way) and the crew at Goshen !

Our games were low scoring , and the games I watched in the 18u were low scoring --great pitching , poor O , or cold weather OR ???? opinions ? IMO too many kids go the plate cold. They stand around alot on D (esp OFer's) set on the bench for a few minutes , get colder , then try to hit --not a good approach. I've told mine a 100 times to run a few sprints inbetween innings but I could have told this computer screen the same thing and got the same result. cold hitters = weak hits.

Only teams I saw stroking the ball with any constitiency were indy dreams (but they got shoutout 0-0 tie against laser gold) and laser-slam 94's . They were certainly hitting.

I think the pitchers deserve a ton of credit, saw many good ones that I believe was the #1 reason for low scores. That's how it should be when competing at the highest levels. 1-0, 2-1, and usually the WALK or the Error is the killer.

However, MD I have to agree, think the cold weather favored the pitchers this weekend. All those loaded bats get funky in the cold. Might have been better to bring out the old aluminum sticks this weekend.. ^_^! Note to self: Highschool season, BRING Aluminum or at least a Non-Composite bat... ^_^!

Had to leave during Laser 94 vs. Laser Akadema Gold (I believe Gold was up 2) when we left at the end of 2 or 3. ANYONE KNOW THE OUTCOME OF THIS ONE??????

Lasers scarlet lost 3-2 under the Laser Akadema Gold I believe thats what I heard. Im glad we are in the 12u, and 14u that laser scarlet will be fierce this ( next ) year.

Well the buckeye heat (yeater) were close we could have tied the game in the bottom of the 6th but got got thrown out at home. On a great throw by the LF. Great game by both teams.

Literally just walked in the door. Sorry I haven't been able to say thanks for the kind compliments on here. What a great weekend of softball!! The field crew at Goshen lead by Dwayne Eades was AMAZING!! I cannot thank them enough for the amount of time and effort they put into the fields this weekend. Tim Cleaver was also a HUGE help running the tournament and stepping in as an umpire today. Could not have ran the tournament without him. My parents were also truly amazing - it was a tremendous group effort. To all teams that came - THANK YOU! I hope you enjoyed your time in Goshen and we look forward to making this an annual event.

As for the Lasers Gold/OH Lasers 94 game - Lasers Gold won (don't remember the exact score). It was a great game though. Megan Flenniken threw an outstanding game for the Gold and held the 94 to 1 run. The 94 will have a very successful season.

great tournament. I haven't been to many big tournaments but this was by far the best compitition I have seen. Every team there was tough. The consession stand was very good. Fields looked pretty good. A nice place to hold a tournament. All the games went by quick. I liked that we didn't have to wait around long for our games to start.
