Lady Lasers Blue is a first year 18u team with a mix of players who are grad year 2018, 2019, and 2020. This post is NOT about the summer 2018 season but the 2018 Fall - 2019 Summer year and possibly one year beyond.

This year we graduate four special players who will go off to college leaving us some big holes to fill. If anyone is interested in our program I encourage you to check out our website www.ladylasersblue.com.

I am happy to take calls and emails and if it seems like a fit I will try to catch some of your high school or travel games this year. We will primarily be looking for 2020 grad year players but will definitely look at 2019's as well. After our most recent commit, to date our team has amassed approximately $452,000 in official and unofficially awarded athletic scholarships!

Here are our projected needs after the completion of this travel season:

Catcher from Class of 2020
Middle Infield 2020 or 2019
2 - Outfield 2020 or 2019

A player who can play more than one of these positions all the better!

With the meat of our season behind us we have thus far posted a record of 31-7-1 with Championship at Heatin It Up USA Softball Qualifier, 3rd at ASA State, Runner Up at GAPSS. Finished 5-1 at Scenic City. Starting to get serious about filling our player needs for next year. Now is the time to reach out if you are interested in being a Laser for fall 2018 / summer 2019! None of them are filled as yet but got prospects for everything except Catchers. Will hopefully get something put together for end of next week for interested players.

Just returned from an amazing trip to USA Softball Nationals in Salem Virginia. Got a 1 seed out of pool play but suffered a disappointing loss in our second elimination game on Thursday. Won 5 straight on Friday in the loser bracket went to the hotel got four hours sleep came back in the morning and beat the team that put us in the loser bracket 12-5. In our next game we were losing 10-2 in the top of the 5th when our girls really showed what they were made of. Scored one and held them to keep it from being a run rule. Then in the 6th we put 6 on the board and really came close to tying it but got thrown out at the plate. Ended up losing 11-9 and finishing 9-2 to go 5th in the nation. I've never been prouder of any team I've coached. Finished the summer 44-10-1. Champions at Heatin' It Up where we got our berth. 3rd at ASA State, Runner Up at GAPSS. Add to that all players on our team are committed except 2 who are considering offers still.

This is the kind of year it's been for us. It was not unusual for us to play 9, 10, 11 games in a weekend. Our parents understand how great it was having 4 very good pitchers to get us through those long days. We are excited to see some talent to replace our seniors and one sophomore in college this coming Saturday.
