Not to say anything bad about Stingrays, GAPSS or other big tournaments but at 10u this field 1-12 is going to be the strongest 10u event of the year. Top 4 will be an accomplishment. Should be fun!!

Yep, I haven't seen the bracket and the times yet, but if you are still playing on Sunday, you've had a pretty good run. Just think, in 14U, you could actually play 4 Laser teams this weekend, not to mention the other teams (including 6 other states) you could play. Can't wait!

FYI - My game times changed (pool F, 18U) but they are not posted yet. Might be smart to double check your game times with Jeff!

Would be nice to have a firm schedule posted since it's less than 48 hours away.

If anyone is in need of a hotel, Sean Smith at Ft Rapids will get you an awesome rate and if you are interested in the waterpark, passes are super cheap. For 18U, it puts you about 5 minutes from the fields at Shady & Walnut Ridge, plus it's the mose secure place to stay in that area IMO. 614-863-1380

Coaches (or someone the coach designates to represent the team) should check in at John Bishop Park, 4920 Etna Road, Whitehall, Ohio 43213. You can check in on Thursday between 5 PM and 8 PM or on Friday before your first game. Turn in a roster of your players' names and birthdates. Show proof of insurance. Get the packet of information for your team (this includes pool games, brackets, rules, a map, etc.). Also, if your team pre-ordered shirts, pick them up (we know if your team pre-ordered shirts; and if they did, we will have them ready for you to take).

I was planning on sending this information by email as well as giving it out at check in, but I have had some computer problems that prevented sending all of it. Everyone should have received the pool game schedule about 3 months ago. A few changes were made in 18+U recently to get some games earlier. The coaches of the teams that were affected were called about it.

It would be a good idea for teams to make sure they know when their first pool game is on Friday by going to http://www.allprosoftware.net/POOLPLAYLaserNationInvitation2011/
However this is not yet updated for the 5 18+U games that were moved to an earlier time. Those coaches have received a phone call about that. The 18+U pool games handout (that 18+U coaches will get at check in) have those changes on it.

If we can not get a team to replace one that dropped out due to injuries, are there any teams who would like to play an extra game on Friday so that the other teams in that pool get to play 3 games?

There were 10 coaches of 18+U teams who were asked if they would move their 6:30 P.M. game (or 5 PM game in one case) to an earlier time. They all said yes. We did this because the umpire scheduler asked us to (there were a few times that did not have games scheduled). We also thought it would help the teams by getting done earlier on Friday. Only one team was caused to have an earlier first game than the schedule called for. That team was the Lady Lasers White. We appreciate everyone for being willing to move a game to an earlier time.

You can bat your entire roster in pool play. That is one of the main exceptions to ASA rules. That rule and some others are listed in the handouts that that teams will get when they check in.

Cool. Hope somebody passes along all the special rules to the umpires before they set foot on the field!

So everyone has to check in at Bishop even if not playing there?

Yeah, that could be nasty, especially for the first few early games/teams, rolling into town that morning ... not familiar with town, the fields, traffic, etc? Any chance of having a table or person at concessions to handle the teams at the local fields? Just asking, no worries.

Could you post those specifc changes here as the allpro website does not yet reflect the changes to fill in the schedule gaps. - thanks
