Lasers Silver 2nd Annual Memorial Day Shootout (Monday May 27, one day only, 14u, 16u, & 18u)

Lasers Silver is hosting our second annual Memorial Day Shootout at Lou Berliner Park in Columbus Ohio on Memorial Day (Monday May 27, 2019. One day only).

Open to top 14u teams, 16u, & 18u teams

• • Limited to 24 teams only
  • Teams will play against other age groups, but we will do our best to have all teams play against like competition
  • Open roster
• Hosted at Lou Berliner Park in Columbus OH
  • To be played on quad of turf fields which have bathrooms, concessions, & play areas for younger siblings
  • We will likely be split between the 2 quads of fields (fields 10-13 and 14-17)
• 3 game round robin
  • Earliest start time of 9am
  • Start times every 2 hours
  • Last games of the day start at 5pm
  • 1 hour 45 minute games or 7 innings, whichever comes first
• ASA rules apply except with exceptions noted below
• No need to exchange lineups
• Free defensive substitutions
• Batting roster is permitted and encouraged
• Up to 5 warm up pitches allowed for a new pitcher, 1 each inning thereafter
  
• Run rules are not in effect
• Runner for pitcher and catcher encouraged.
  • Courtesy runner can be used. . . last recorded out
• We will not be collecting scores
• 2 umpires per game
  
• $350/team
  • Payment deadline of March 15

• The city of Columbus will charge a $5/car gate fee

As a first year event last year, we had 12-15 D2, D3, & NAIA coaches attend the event. Please be prepared with team & individual profiles for them. We will be reaching out to coaches ahead of time again to make them aware of the event.

We have increased the time limits from 80 minutes to 105 minutes to get more game time in for each team.
This should be used as a prep to get ready for tournaments and get plenty of live reps, but also be able to get exposure to the D2, D3, and NAIA schools.

We now have 3 teams on the waiting list. The first 24 registered teams have until 3/15 to pay. If entry fee is not received by 3/15, we will offer to teams on the waiting list.

 

We are considering adding additional fields but need at least 6 teams & can add in groups of 3 after that. We can accommodate up to 12 additional teams.
