2016/2017 Tryouts

Outdoor fields - We utilize the three fields at Watkins HS and MS along with the cage. Also, we are in the process of completing another field at BWT in Pataskala.
Indoor facilities - LC Lightning is fortunate to be located near two great indoor facilities. We utilize both The Batter's Box in Reynoldsburg and TAD in Granville. Both are located near the majority of our players and offer practice and training opportunities for our players.
Below is a profile for each team currently or could potentially be in our LightningOrganization. We are anticipating adding up to two new teams for the 2016/17 season. Our fees last season were $650. Each of our teams have a different make up and some are more competitive in their age groups than others. However, most would fall into the "B" classification. Most of the girls are in the Central OH region, with the large majority living in the hotbed of softball, Licking County. Some teams travel to multiple tournaments that are a couple hours away while some will mostly stay in central OH.

Teams
10u - Many in this age group will be moving up so we will be looking for new talent to complete the handful of players that will be second year tens. The current team has had much success and we will be looking for players that want to learn and grow and continue the success that this year's team has had. They received multiple births and the current tens are going to ASA's in Marion.
11u - This team will be a new addition for LC Lightning. We have a strong group moving up and should allow for two teams at 11U/12U. We will need a group of players to go along with the group that is moving up.
12u - Many in this age group have played 12U for one season as first year twelves. We have some spots open for this group and we will look to add solid athletes to this group.
14u - The bulk of this team are second year fourteens so they will be moving up and will allow for new additions to this age group for Lightning. We will be looking for players that want to improve themselves and are willing to work on their individual skills to help improve the team.
15u - This will also be a new addition to the LC Lightning family. As many of the '01 group have to move up, we will be adding a first year 16U team (15's). This team has had a nice two year run at 14U and have a nice core of players that will need some additional athletic players to make a new run at 16U.
16u - This team was made up of mostly first year 16U players so some of them will be continuing on in this age group. However, we have spots open for new athletes that want to compete and play in some nice tournaments, including some college showcase or exposure type tournaments.
