bigtrain, thanks for sharing your experiences from this summer. ?The 0fer at ASA Nationals should shed some light on the differences between the governing bodies of softball at the national level for the doubters on here. ?I have no doubt that your team will benefit from attending ASA Nationals and I applaud your effort to be the best. ?Playing at that level points out your weaknesses and you either work to reduce your weaknesses or you fall by the wayside...I'm betting the Little Slammers reduce their weaknesses and will be better off in the long run.

Congrats on a great season and good luck in the future.

Don't know much about the SC Flame (18U NSA champ), but I wouldn't mind seeing the Shamrocks play the PONY champs ... Gold Coast Hurricanes (FL).

They said the 1960 Yankees would rout the NSA "A" champ?

Keep in mind the leadoff hitter/SS for the Shamrocks is Courtney Bures, who was a freshman All-America at Miss. St. The rest of the lineup boasts talent somewhat close to that neighborhood.

When are these sanctioning bodies going to wake up and return the national tournaments to the format they were originally intended for -- youth softball competition, not college freshmen softball competition
Bravo to Fireworks in Colorado for banning college players -- let the next group have its shot at exposure

Bures was the best position player I saw play this season and I cannot imagine anybody out there better than her. ?Quite frankly, she's amazing.

BTW, if the FL Gold Coast Hurricanes would have won 3 more games in bracket play at Boulder, you would have got your wish and they would have played the Shamrocks in the semi-finals. ?The Hurricanes did win their pool in Boulder, which is a very resepctable accomplishment...oh, and finishing tied for 7th at the Gold Nationals ain't bad either, but I'd put my money on the Shamrocks.

I would have to have some insider trading info to bet against the Shamrocks in any tournament (no guarantee that they'd win, but sure wouldn't want to bet against them - at any age)

... aren't the '60 Yankees getting a little old now? (those that are still with us at least).
